Deer population

Harvest numbers were down I believe mostly because of the weather last season... which kept deer movement down and hunter "time in the woods" down. If anything you will probably notice more deer due to lower harvest numbers last season and the mild winter.

I assumed it was because the 2014/2015 winter was brutal so population was suppressed. Our past winter was a joke, so surely less deer were taken by the cold.

I think it was 14% statewide reduction last hunting season from the one prior.

Bad winters and high coyote population. I have seen a huge decrease in deer sighting over the last couple of years. DEC keeps giving out two dmps per person in the area even though our southern tier numbers are down. Don't get it
