10/16/22. 3rd area,I have searched in the first 2 days of the Fall Turkey Season. Walked a Solid 2+ Hours. Plenty of Loud Lost Yelping on the Lynch World Champion  Box. No Turkeys seen or heard.

Can't  believe  a Bow Deer Hunter was " not Home" on this Beautiful, Chilly,Sunny Sunday Morning.  See pic below.

Have u seen or heard a turkey yet?

Not yet. 5 times out so far.

When the mast crop is Tremendous  as it is this year- the Big Birds can be hard to locate.

Meanwhile,I continue to feed daily my Flock of 7 Turkeys and 1 Gobbler who is missing a Spur on the left leg. No Hunting down past my Dead end.  Good 10 year Hobby.

Definitely- To Each Their Own....

Absolutely, but your saying birds are so hard to kill on public but a cakewalk on private, and at the same time your openly talking about shooting the first hen you see..... there's a non-logical hypocrisy in your statement.

You and,I have been through this subject already.

My area has a Tremendous  amount of Hens. If your area does not- don't shoot Hens in your area.

Halloween Hunting  Day!  12th day out for Wild Turkeys in NY and now NJ on the Multiple  use areas. I got out late at 8.30am and probably  just missed the Flock as the area was just tipped up.

I believe, I know where they head to. Tomorrow, I walk from here to China and we will see if,I reflected correctly.

I was out today at lunch time just scouting really did not here a peep then when i left driving out i see 2 fly right over my car and land in a tree above me lol saw this  vine on the trail kind of cool how it got stuck there like that .

Do you think the turkeys go  Silent when the shooting starts at them because the day b4 season i heard a bunch of them then few days later same place nothing . Or did they move on  How far do turkeys travel doing the season I wonder.

Oh Yeah!  Depends on the pressure. Heavy Hiking,Mountain Biking, Bow Deer Hunters walking in their Roost area,Small Game Hunters, Hunting Dogs,Etc.

The Turkeys will keep changing their Roost Locations and Travel patterns in response to all forms of people  Traffic and they are deathly  afraid of Dogs as most already know.

If one has a huge chuck of Private Land- their Fall Turkey Hunting will often be relatively  Easy.

It is what it is. I just keep going out.
