I would normally carry my Remington 660 in .308 shooting 150 gr Barnes Vortex TTSX.  It's my wife's first deer season though, so I'm letting her use that rifle and taking my 870 shooting Remington Copper solid sabots.

For the last bunch of years I've carried the Winchester Apex muzzle stuffer   Only shoot once and don't shoot at running deer.

This year with my 14 year old daughter hunting with me on opener I'll tote my 870 stuffed with 3" lightfields in case I need a quick follow up shot on one of her deer. She's toting a youth 870 and Winchester sabots.

My Super Blackhawk.44 will also be going along.

She can't hunt Sunday so back to the front loader for me and the wheel gun.

Haven't decided yet......either the 243 with 80gr Barnes TTX or the 7mm-08 with 120gr NBT.  Both are NULA guns.

Glad im not the only one that said .243 ha.hunted with a rifle last year but saw 2 deer with no shot.always been a shotgun.really thinking about the .243 for this season

New hunter to NY here. Found some public land to hunt, it’s a WMA. I wish I read the regs more thoroughly because I threw up a ladder stand yesterday and today when I was re-reading them, I saw you can’t put temporary stands on WMAs, only on state forests and other such state land. I honestly didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to, I even put my name and license # on the stand. I was going to go take it down tomorrow but it’s an hour drive so I wanted to ask, what do DEC officers do if they find a ladderstand like mine on a WMA? Is this an automatic fine or whatever? Will they just call me and tell me to come get it? Confiscate? How often do officers go through areas like WMAs and check for stands? Any info would be helpful. I’ll still probably go take it down tomorrow, although I have seen other stands up on the WMA, I just prefer to stay on the right side of the law myself. Thanks!

Looking to sell my Gen 1 Ruger PRS in .308
Unfortunately, I've only brought it to the range one time before so it's barely used.
Rifle is all stock besides the addition of the muzzle break.
I want to upgrade my bow, and don't have the chance to shoot this as much as I like.
      Rifle w/ scope : $1300
      Rifle w/out scope: $900
      FFL transaction required.
You can contact me at [email protected] with any questions or more pics.

Email that came last night from our friend and staunch promoter of dove hunting in New York State, Mike Rossi:
"On January 3rd Senator O'Mara introduced a Senate version of the dove bill, S07202. It was also co-sponsored by Senator Seward and Senator Ranzenhofer.
In the next week or two be sure to call Governor Cuomo's office and ask him to take executive action on this bill during this year's budget.
If the governor does not take executive action then it's going to be very important for the next 6 months, up until early June, if necessary, that everybody calls every member of the legislature multiple times. We basically have until June to get this done.
I asked that Fred Neff verifies this, but I'm pretty sure that this is the first time in New York's history that there was a dove Bill sponsored in both Chambers? "
How about this, all you bird dog owners here in NY just might get a dove hunting season yet.  I'll have to rethink my position on getting another lab if this happens!!  (it'll be a yellow though as I think they can take the heat better than a black!)
