Ground blind repair

Recommended Posts

Had a hub style ground blind fall victim to the wind this last season, finally got around to getting it fixed this week. Drilled out the old fiberglass rods and epoxied in some fiberglass driveway markers cut to length. Considered using tent repair poles but this seems to work for now

(Not sure why the images seem to be flipped, the rods are actually the top 2)

Nice repair work! And much more economical than purchasing a new blind!

Especially since it was a brand new blind!

That is nice work.  I purchased the replacement rods/hub from primos for $20, but I bet that is a cheaper repair.

Yup I spent a grand total of $4 ;-)

I had enough problems with the frame that I welded a frame very similar to a party tent frame ,4  pieces for the corners and   a crown for four rafters. everything is slip fit so a little persuading hey its all like about 30 pounds. But like they say I set it and forget it . plus at that weight its staked to the ground in all four corners . I welded big ol washers on to re bar . It stood the test of time but  now its getting time to take it down for the year. I hate this part ... at least its only a 100 yards to the car
