Started off in the Navy....Uss Constellation, Uss Holland, NAS Miramar, Uss Duluth. Switched to the US Cost Guard, 3 years on the icebreaker Mackinaw, 7 years at MSD Massena, NY, then retired.

USNR  1970-76,  PC3  Served 2  years active duty aboard USS Moale  1971-73...

I remember rifle qual week very well.... I also remember the recruit who pointed his rifle the wrong way, and had every DI on the range attacking him like wild dogs.

USMC 1959 - 1963 . Got my final release papers in 1965 . 1st Bat 2nd Mar 2nd Mar Division . 

Spent several months in 81mm mortars and the balance in 2nd Engineer Battalion . Made 2 Med Cruises and the closest I came to any combat was during the Cuban Missile Crisis when we were aboard ship ready to go into Cuba .

That's cool FastEddie! My Dad was a radio/crypto guy on the Independence for the Cuban Missile crisis.

As I look back in life I'd say not serving is my biggest regret . Here's my great uncle , Navy WW I and WW II , my Dad was in WW II and his brother and two young uncles were KIA.

great pics guys. Who here misses the military I can say for myself I had a / still am having a hard time adapting to civilian life. Somethings they just don't understand.
