Im in my local shop last night and he's got what i think is either an old westerner or a featherweight on the wall. Looks to be clean with a bright bore. Not the best looking piece of walnut but good overall and good steel inside and out. Wants i think $550 ish. Says he looked up the serial and its a 1968 production 70. Thoughts????

I don't think there is a lot of collector interest in post  1964 model 70s,  but  they are solid, functional firearms  and as far as I know they at as accurate as the coveted pre- 64 models..

If the rifle is in good shape, I would say that $550, while not a SMOKIN' deal, is a fair price .
