Heading to The St. Lawrence this w/e...any reports?

The northern bite has been in decline over the last several years and was the worst I have seen this year.  I think it is related to the round goby which have exploded and which do not seem to feed the pike as well as some other species (like smallmouth bass and walleye).  I have never targeted perch up there.   Smallmouth bass are always my main target, and they have been steady with numbers down slightly but growth rate way up thanks to the round gobies.  The largemouth bass bite has been improving the last few years.   Good luck on your trip.
