Carlton Hill state land

Hi Folks...  I am going to Carlton Hill state land this weekend to scout and squirrel hunt.  Has anyone here ever been there before and if so any advice as to hunting this place?

I live not very far from there and I am looking for a place to bow hunt after work.  I like going out after work (3:30 PM) mid-week so I can avoid other folks.  How much pressure is on this place during bow season?

I have gone for rabbit and deer, I go close to Moose Rd but so does everyone else

I started pheasant hunting there a few years ago and saw some decent deer sign. I’ve gone deer hunting with bow a few times, have not got one there yet, curious to how it’s been for you or if you ended up trying it?

I have had a few close encounters with doe in there.. I messed it up from not being brushed in well.  Have not been there in a while.
