Thursday was better no deer just some hens and my brother saw a fisher. we hunted morning and afternoon.harassed the rockbass and brim midday. Friday morning bingo 38 degrees I just got settled in when I get a text got one can you come help. I head over there's my brother with a poop eaten grin on his face. he said he shot a small 40lbs. doe over here he's color blind and has a hard time finding blood I look down bubbly blood and his arrow. he said it went into a swampy area and crashed 60 yards and there's a 130lbs. doe laying in the water. he said I'll get it half way back I said how's that 40lbs. feel he didn't answer me. we took a few pics and went to work got it back to the house and thru it on a scale 105lbs. dressed butchered it up and got it on ice. beautiful doe not one tick on her. my brothers track record up there is better then mine 3 for 4 years not bad for a new guy to hunting. all and all it was a great few days with my brother. OtiscoPaul
Great week...harvest is the capper! I think this illustrates why people who are willing to fill doe tags should do it early and often and not worry about deer size especially when the doe is alone with no other deer for reference... Unless I missed the point entirely and he intentionally had you track and drag his deer as any good brother would.
