Love the Savage ML10II, in our family we have 5, I believe.  :D I helped a neighbor build a ML10 from a 110 action that was a 223 Rem and a take off Ml10II barrel. Modules and Breach Plugs are still available from Savage.

We use both IMR SR 4759 and AC XMR5744 in our smokeless guns.  I prefer 4759. I hunt with a mild 30 or 33 gr. of 4759, this is the equivalent to 85 or 105 gr V of BH209. I look for 1500 to 1750 FPS from the loads. I have personaly used over 2200 Win 209 primers in my Smokeless guns. I buy Harvester SB Sabots  by the case from Graf and sons. I intent to have a another Stainless 700ML converted to Smokeless before this season rolls around, for my personal enjoyment :-) .

I personally don't own a ML10, in any form, but I have built 3 of my own smokeless guns currently hunting with a gun I built  on a Remington #5 Rolling Block action.  26" 50 cal 1 X24 Stainless barrel, recessed the vent liner in the Breach plug, use Savage type vent liners that I drill myself.

I personally IMHO have no use for store bought Bullets in any of my Muzzleloaders, I cast everything from .226 47 gr Hornet Boolitz to 500 gr .514 WFN, I have 2 molds specifically for sabots, both are smooth sided slightly Bevel based Boolitz,  first was the LBT 333 gr .452 LFN double cavity, next was the BRP products 5 cavity 300 grain FN.  all My saboted Boolitz are cast of WWs and water dropped for hard cast minimum expansion.

Long live the Cast Boolit and Let the Meplat work.

Not trying to start any fights just trying to get some info out. A couple of interesting articles written by one of the guys who helped sell the idea of the smokeless powder guns to savage. If you own one you should read it. Once again not trying to start a fight, but the article lets you know what to look for to find out if your gun may explode someday. There not saying the design is bad just some of the modifications savage has made to cut costs are bad ideas.

He had none of those opinions or problems until Savage decided not to redo his contract at a hefty increase. Then mysteriuosly his rifle blew. If you look at the pics he posted, there is no way someone had their cheek on the stock when that blew without some serious injury. There have been more then a few that believe this situation was too convenient for him. Add that to the fact he has never allowed inspection of that gun.

OH PLEASE, not this misinformation AGAIN??  After reading the BS from a pissed off ex-employee, how about some facts?

Yes, I own one, and yes, I love it.  The thing is built like a tank!  If you want the best tool for harvesting deer during ml season, get the Savage smokeless.  Its safe, its easy to clean and it shoots great.  If you like smoke and cleaning more than shooting, get something else.  Its that simple.
