I’ve been seeing more and more turkey vultures here on Long Island. I was out shed hunting this weekend a saw two then I found this guy.By the time I left there where six of them circling around. About three weeks ago I saw a pair of ravens caching pieces of a deer in a whole in a tree. I never know they where on Long Island ether.

Sometime after I saw my first L.I. turkey vulture I met a woman who was a bird watcher(I think they want to be called birders now). I told her about my sighting and she said that she was surprised because the air  currents weren't right for them on L.I.  I didn't know her so I don't know if she was correct but it sounded good.

I see lots of them in Putnam and Rockland Counties.
