Live From The Water 2018 Edition!

From this morning with my 5 year old.  We both had our lines in the water at the same time, he had a nightcrawler with a bobber on his pole and I had a nighrcrawler set up with a bottom rig.  Carters bobber drops, and I give him he heads up...he reels in a respectable Largemouth, then upon returning it to the water, my rod jiggles and  I reeled in my personal best Largemouth bass.  15.5” long.

Little derby cruise the other night. Did ok. Fished inside at Olcott, plenty of stagers hanging out. Son got his PB @19#. Little slower trip than normal but we brought a few to the boat. 6 dipsy and 2 rigger program with NO tangles.... Kinda crazy, kinda stupid, but effective. 64d3c054430bce9bac6231084fbd92ba.jpg7295a4f550a4cd829544aba58664dc59.jpgcd349f19346e1f14f17e539fe146678b.jpg

You running the same size dipsies on all rods.  I was going to try a magnum and regular on each side but 3 per side is crazy.  I could just see tangles galore.  And good on your son bringing in that monster.  Definitely a battle for someone his size.

First trip to the river this year, I figured there were a few Kings around, they were slim pickings but eventually I found some fish on the move, limited in an hour. salmo.jpegsalmo2.jpegsalmo4.jpegsalmo5.jpegIMG_20180828_155358875.jpeg

Haha I bleed them when I catch them, every year I can't stop thinking how fun it would be to bowfish them! I only caught hens yesterday, which is good because I got about 8 lbs of eggs for this winter/spring.

Nope. Hooks in the mouth are legal, anywhere else is not legal and the fish goes back...

It's called "flossing"   or " lining",  ….Takes a lot of skill and practice... It is standard on red salmon in Alaska.....

Since I mainly bowhunt I could say the same of you "rifle hunters." Grow up, get over yourself. Move on, there's more to life than trying to force your opinion on someone else. This is a fishing thread, not a place for your ethical preaching...
