I will be attending my 50th high school reunion this weekend....Never thought I'd survive this long..Hehehe..

I'm sure that my first question will be " Who the heck ARE all these OLD people ??".....

I have been going through my senior class yearbook trying to refresh my memory...I  hope I don't call somebody by the wrong name, especially if that name is someone who's dead....

Enjoy Pygmy. You going solo in case the high school cheer leader you tried to land back them finally gives in?

As a matter of fact, I think I am going solo since The Mermaid has said she'd rather not go.....

And she wasn't a cheerleader, she was Head Majorette....<< big SMILE>>….

Pretty cool to go to something like this!  Hope you get a wink and a smile from 'THAT' girl!  And for sure the ageless question will be asked, "remember when"?  Enjoy your trip back in time my friend!

Actually, I saw THAT girl at my 40th, and she still  looked pretty damn good...We slow danced and I told her that we should have run off together years ago..

One problem is that her husband is a retired prison guard and is as big as a TANK....Hehehe...

I am attending another Committee Meeting in Geneseo today for the GCS Alumni Banquet that will be held in July . Our 1959 class is the latest group to be invited . I expect to see a lot of canes , walkers and wheel chairs at the Banquet . It will probably look like an AARP Meeting .

It will be a good time Dan have fun.

I find meeting up with folks I have not seen in many years interesting and fun, folk's looks can sure change a lot as they age.

I had a beautiful teacher that all the guys in her class would just sit there and drool over, ran into her 40 years later and did not recognize her, she was a little old lady with white hair.

Went on a road trip to Tennessee to pick up an Airedale from a breeder friend of mine. I would be passing close to Madison Indiana where an old co worker that I hunted with and did a lot of motorcycling with had retired to and had lost contact with and had not seen in 20 years. He was more of my Dad's age and had retired from the Air force and stayed in worked in the area for several years before going back home and I decided to make a stop to see if I could find him.

He was one of those guys that would ad a few inches to the fish he caught or the weight of his deer but his all time great was that he had killed an 80 pound coon on the bank of the Ohio river which he hunted in his youth and we never let him live that one down.

Drove into Madison without a clue where he lived but a little detective work at a diner pointed me to a fellow that knew him a couple of blocks away and he gave me directions to his home.

Now back in the day I hung around with this fellow I had a head of hair that would have a hard time fitting in a bushel basket but had since those days had began cutting it short. So I find his house and walk up to the door and knock, the door opens and there he was looking pretty much the same, just a little grayer. I said to him "I am from NY and have come down here to hunt the 80 pound coons that you swear inhabit these parts.

He looks at me for a moment with a look of disbelief and says "Who the hell are you?"  I just about pissed my pants laughing. In a couple of seconds he recognized who I was and we had a good laugh. He ended up going with me to Tennessee and we had a great time for several days, was glad I took the time to find him as he passed away a couple of years later.

These reunions keep getting smaller and smaller. Our last reunion (50th) was back in 2011 (Naples class of '61) and only had about 15 attendees. I wonder when it will get to the point where there aren't enough left to organize one anymore. Maybe we're there already.

Thank heavens for name tags. None of us look anything like the young brats we were when we graduated. Gravity and good eating and a whole lot of punish wrinkling has taken it's toll.... lol.

Oh boy can you imagine the stories of a pygmy youth.....there might be some divorces in store after this reunion.  Lol

I bet it will be great.  Have fun reliving the old times.

Some stories  need re-telling....Many others are better left untold....

I just talked to a classmate who is one of the most successful  members of my graduating class and a very  well respected businessman... We discussed what a WILD CHILD he was 50 years ago, and he said...." don't go telling stories on me "....And I won't, just as there are a few stories about ME that I would rather  have not related...

Some stories are just better left untold....

One hint Pygmy. Don't mention politics in any way. I was at my 40 year reunion last summer and when questioned I happened to mention that I was a Trump supporter. I was immediately escorted away from the party and forced to sit at an isolated table by a gal I had dated during the seventies. She's still cute and there are fond memories. She scolded me: "Think about what you've done." In general it was a fun party, but that was just weird.

I make it a point never to discuss religion or politics  unless  I know I am in a  like-minded group....

Doesn't change anybody's mind and  it only leads to hard feelings...

The mermaid and I attended the first function of my reunion last night, a  get together at a local golf course banquet hall..

It was GREAT !!  Lots of attendees, some of whom I had not seen in 50 years and   many of whom I have only seen at previous reunions...

Got to visit with some of my close friends from way back when...Many of us LOOK a whole lot different, but I was surprised at how  little most of the people had changed....Shared some great ( and funny) memories...

Got another gig this afternoon and then a breakfast tomorrow morning..Check your wallets, guys, I may need some bail money YET..Hehehe….
