Nice looking 22 Long/ 20 gauge over under

Recommended Posts

I have a Savage model 24S-E over under 22 long top barrel 20 gauge 2 3/4 & 3 inch shells. Wooden stock in nice condition. Blueing on barrel very good. 2 or 3 minor scratches on receiver. I only shot may be 25 shells thru it. Need room in my gun case for a new gun I want to buy. I leave about 35 miles south west of Albany. $325.00 plus I will include 2 boxes full boxes if 22 long rifle ( 100 ) shells. A few 20 gauge slugs and a few 20 gauge size 4 and size 7 1/2 shells. I prefer not to ship but to meet the person. I would be willing to meet some one 1/2 to them in New York State. I purchased this gun around 1970 and it is a great small game, or truck gun. Can be used for deer as well. No scope on it. Email me at [email protected]. 8e788b3354ff35092babf70ffcdce7d2.jpg109ec358b0f329bcc26cfe0c220e538f.jpg

I don't think a combo gun is legal for turkey at all since rifles are not permitted, even if not loaded.  They may be legal for deer if they use a centerfire round and have a slug in the shotgun barrel.  They are legal, in any chambering, when hunting small game or varmint.

I usually use this gun for rabbit and squirrels, and some time woodchucks. Years ago I did carry 20 gauge slugs with no other kind of shells to hunt deer. I will call later in the week to my local DEC office and get the correct position from them about using or not using this gun for deer. This is a great gun for some one wanting one gun that does a lot. Is light and can be just fun to shoot both for adults and youths. I will post exactly what the NY State DEC tells me about using it on deer.

I have had a discussion with DEC officer, and also with NY state office of dispatch that reviews all hunting, shooting regulations. In the area were I live and hunt, Schoharie Co. NY if you have the correct hunting license, and hunt in an area that permits what you are using, example here both rifle and shotguns are allowed than you can hunt with this gun for small game, big game, or turkey. You just must use the correct, legal amo on the game. During small game season you can have a 22 long in the gun and a shotgun shell but if you turkey hunt you can not fire the 22 at it. You must use the current shot of shotgun example it is illegal to use size 10 shot shot gun shell or the 22. Carrying the gun afield loaded is OK. I hope this clears things up. By the way I purchased my new gun. It is a Benelli Montefeltro silver 26 inch in barrel 20 gauge semiautomatic. Only 5 1/2 lbs. Any one wanting to buy my American made Savage over under call me at 518-231-4582.
