I opted out for the morning hunt. My brother heading out it’s just a drizzle now 60 degrees and lite wind. Maybe this afternoon.  Good luck to anyone heading out.

All quiet in SW PA. Good weather and temp. Everything is super lush and green. Won’t see much until it’s on top off me. Dew on leaves dripping so much you would think it had rained.

Well.... in for the morning. Dad saw 5 bucks. 2 that wouldn’t make “3 up” antler restriction. One that would have passed AR, but too small to waste his one buck tag on first morning. And a large 8pt and large 10pt sparring across his swamp, but never came closer than 53 yards. It’s nice to see the old man invigorated right out the gate.

I saw a squirrel...

Well it's not huge but it's venison and it's my second Bowkill so I'm stoked! A spike still in velvet.7cd84684bacc15dd837bdb15e4582959.jpg&key=1cce2479cb1c5c17e47ae0d1a11d6ac229e956e3769a333c46a980376deb83da

Looks like you and your son have first blood of the season. At least on this forum. Congrats to you both!

"The sportsman lives his life vicariously. For he secretly yearns to have lived before, in a simpler time. A time when his love for the land, water, fish and wildlife would be more than just part of his life. It would be his state of mind."

Hey Everyone! I just uploaded a new video to my YouTube channel! If ya'll enjoy watching whitetails in the rut then you need to watch this! One of the coolest encounters that I've ever been able to video! All filmed off the back of my horse. Note: this is not on a deer farm. These are all wild free ranging whitetails! I'd love it if ya'll would give me some follows on my hunting pages! You can follow me on Facebook, Instagram  and YouTube at Cross Over the River Outdoors! I hope Ya'll enjoy the video! God Bless!

Hey Everyone! This is Louis Backlas/ Cross Over the River Outdoors. I just posted a new video to my YouTube channel that I though ya'll might get a kick out of! Have you ever used a decoy to hunt whitetails? If you haven't before you might want to start! I woke up one morning and look out my front window only  to find that my 3D deer target was in pieces all over the front lawn! A fired up buck decided to take his frustrations out on the target!  this took place sometime in November during the peek of the rut. Hope ya'll get a kick out of it!
