Walked rows of corn and can see a long ways down them but no sheds. And more snow there than I thought would be.  Would've been nice to find them they have to be close.

 This might be a tougher find than normal late winter horn loss, because that buck was likely in the breeding stage still. His travel area could be several miles.  It looked like he had just lost them not long before you harvested by your pic. Good luck Rob.

no one told the deer it was to warm.... He came in chasing 5 doe which are walking past me on the ground at 40 yards tight now !

Had a great night out predator hunting tonight. Took my buddy out for 2 sets, he’s never been out at night before. First set was pretty uneventful, second set we got there and spent the first 15 mins on some light rabbit and woodpecker distress calls and had 2 owls come flying in. They circled around in the field in front of us for a few minutes, which was really neat. After that I hit a coyote serenade and a minute later we had yotes lighting up a ways off. I gave It a few and hit an answer howl and they lit right back up again, this time quite a bit closer. I stayed Silent for 10 mins and then started up some female invitation howls. Just as the howls were done my buddy whispered “right here” and I looked At where he was shining. I saw Eyes and moved the rifle to that spot. I got The kill lint on and could clearly see a big yote on the edge of the field about 150 yards out. Just as I flipped Off the safety, he went to his left below a rise. We scanned around a bit but he never showed again. I tried To coax him back with some rodent distress but no dice. My buddy looked at me and asked if I had Noticed the wind had switched and was blowing right to where the coyote disappeared. Damn wind. He had a blast none the less, and had to head home after that set. 

After he left I hit 2 more spots. Called in a nice red on the first one, but I’m not supposed to shoot fox there. I had 3 groups of yotes talking to me on the last set, but none came in. It was such a good night I would Have done a couple more sets, but I have To work in the morning. I’ll be back after them after Christmas. Evan has been bugging the heck out of me to go. Hopefully I can Have some action while he’s there.

Merry Christmas everyone. I couldn’t get out tonight due to plans with the family. And of course Santa gift wrapped for me one of my target bucks who has been quite elusive the last few weeks decided to make an appearance tonight. This is the first time that I have been able to get a pic of him looking towards the camera. I knew he was big, but now he really is breathtaking. Still have a few more weeks to go. Let’s see what happens. I’d be with you but I had to make the drive to Boston area to visit the in/outlaws ...hoping to be back sooner than later to get a few more hunts in

Hopefully I can get out tomorrow morning before I gotta go back to the city for my dentist at 2 then again Saturday morning before the girlfriend comes up. After New Years it's coyote slamming time! Can't wait to check out the new caller the inlaws got me. She told the gf she got me the mother of all coyote callers so I'm excited to see what I got!

You weren't the only one. Could have used some of this nice weather last month. Tried a public land spot I hadn't hunted in a few years, but that gets hunted pretty hard. Saw 1 doe. Closest it came was 60-70 yds.

      Hello everyone I’m currently looking at a house in deposit ny I’ve been deer hunting for many year mainly in Columbia and Greene county never been to Broome county. Before anything I was just curious how is the hunting there ? I know there aren’t any antlered restrictions in Broome but are there monsters out there or is it mainly just small spike?       What are the best steps carry a bow on your back?

      The procedure below to carry the bow is detailed below:
      You have to use a cotton towel or something similar. You have to wrap it around the bowstring. Doing so ensures that it will not cause an injury with the bowstring coming in contact with your body. It will not be that sharp either. Once you cover the bowstring with the towel, you have to wear it like a sling. So that it will not fall away from your body. The best way to cover the bowstring is to use a large enough towel. You can wrap it around twice as well. When making a sling out of the cotton towel, you have to ensure that you tighten it to get a snug fit. In that case, it will not slip away. Consequently, it will remain in place. When using this technique to carry a bow on your back, it is essential to practice before going in the wilderness. Only when you can move briskly and without noise using the scanning mechanism should you go ahead with it. To remove the bow, you have to hold it at the bottom. After that, you have to slip it over your head as well as arm. Doing so ensures that you can remove it quickly. When trying to focus on a prey, you need to remove the bow quickly. The technique for removal that we have highlighted above can certainly help you do so.

      A Hunter's Obligation to Know the Rules

      Just want to relay an experience I had this weekend regarding hunting regulations and other hunters.
      I've had several  hunter's tell me last weekend(10/12/2020) that muzzleloader was open, it is not. I also had two other hunters last weekend confront me as to why my son was carrying around a rifle and hunting deer. I calmly explained the youth weekend and the rules around it. After that everything was cool and we continued our hunt.
      I know at the end of the day we're all trying to participate in a sport we love and maybe harvest some game. My thought is to just make sure you're up on your local hunting regulations. Not just so you are within the rules, but also so you can assert your right to be where you are, hunting the way you're hunting.
      I know when I have been operating outside of the regulations I have appreciated a person respectfully correcting my ignorance and I try to pay it forward by being informed and respectfully educating when required.

      Bolt Action with Pistol Grip

      I am in the process of purchasing my first rifle to go hunting deer for the first time.  However, I have received contradicting information regarding the types of rifles that are legal.  Based on what I have read, it appears that I am able to use a bolt-action rifle with a pistol grip and a detachable magazine which holds 10 rounds.  However, I have been told that this is not the case. I can't seem to find where this is stated.  Can any one here provide me with some insight into this? I'd really appreciate it.
