kpkot 1224 Report post Posted October 10, 2018 I used to hunt pheasants at the zoar valley multi use area. I would cut school with my brother with a forged note for a doctors appointment. Back then I had a brittany spaniel. I hunted it quite a few times for birds, but not deer. Great memories. We were young and dumb and often went home empty handed( my dog was kinda a clown and it certainly didn't help) I do remember shooting my first pheasant there.

The_Field_Ager 4153 Report post Posted October 11, 2018 If I do hunt Zoar I would be sure to hunt as far from the creek as is feasible. Anyway, a scouting trip is on the cards in the near future in order to get a sense of the place. The_Field_Ager 4153 Report post Posted October 11, 2018 Surprised we don't have a sub forum dedicated to Public Lands in NY. Seems like it would be real useful Agreed, happy to contribute. I've hunted both Zoar and Otto for a number of years. Lots of pressure on both during gun season. I've seen deer in both properties but never killed. My friend killed a doe in the middle of the day that happened to run by because she was bumped by another hunter. Pressure can be good sometimes. Most of my hunts were during gun season. Going to try at least 1 spot I have picked out during bow this year. PM me if you have questions.

If i have a dmp for that zone i will hunt the public land closest to me 90% Of the time and only go father to places I think are better when I have the time to do so , Or just to get away see some new areas of the state .
