First-light
I used to hunt a huge track of land in Roscoe. Very secluded other than opening week you probably won't run into anyone. Years ago it was good hunting not so much anymore.
Hunter007
The one I see deer on they all suck and there all good depending on if you see deer there or not . And the bigger the better I like. Edited October 29, 2018 by Storm914

UpStateRedNeck
Renslearville State Forest used to get mobbed on opening day, hardly anybody the past 5 years. I mention this because they logged the ever living piss out of it 2 years ago, looks very deer friendly now. I drive through it on the way to the farm. Also interesting is that it doesn't show up as green state forest on Google maps these days. But it's still on the DEC Web ste.
grampy
Hands down, Partridge Run in 4-H. Nowhere near as many hunters as years past. Plenty of room to spread out too. There are some hidden spots in there, that are very good for various game.
UpStateRedNeck
I hear good things about partridge run. A few high school parties there that I vaguely recall. 20 years past.

For about 15 years I hunted the mountain just north of Ski Windham, on the north side of Rt 23. Up at the end of Nauvoo Rd. Shot piles of deer there. Then, in '86 we went up there and the whole place was cut up into a subdivision.
cdbing
I like California hill state forest in Putnam, from a scenery perpective, but haven't seen enough deer to warrant the 100 mile trek from LI. So I hunt state and county land in 1c and lots of time i am listening to the highway or neighbors or what have you....but the spots are closeby and see deer 50 % of the days.Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

The reason I enjoy pieces of woods is because it's not well known, if I go spouting about it online it may get more traffic. It's kind of like asking, what are the GPS coordinates to your best tree stand? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
