Tag Question for LI

Hey All,

 

I just moved to Long Island and was trying to get out for a few days of late season bow, but had a questions regarding tags. Since LI doesn't really have a fire arms season in some parts, can I use my archery season tags during the regular season? Or would I need to tag a deer with my buck/dmp tag for the regular season. Just not sure how that works down here. Any guidance is appreciated.

Antlered Deer Only Exceptions: Antlered or Antlerless During the regular season in Westchester Co. and during any season in Suffolk Co. In Areas restricted to longbow hunting only During late season (with bow or muzzleloading privilege)

Call the DEC on LI, and ask them, before doing any type of hunting.  Good luck

You can use either buck tag at anytime during the deer season on LI. There are guys who will use their gun tag on a buck before they use their bow tag, becuase it means they can still use their bow tag upstate if they choose to hunt up their during bow season
