Has nothing to do with commercialism. But it does give me a chance to show she is appreciated.  She loves Xmas and works hard to provide for her kids.  And for her to have no gifts just wouldn't be right , at least in my book. I try to do something for her as she does so much for others you couldn't even imagine.  And it doesn't have to be expensive just something to make her day.  Not a thing wrong with that.

Very well said.

My wife loves them knick knacks of animals and holiday stuff. So i got her a couple Jim Shore birds and a little trinket box with owls on it. Then i put a couple hundred dollars in her card for her to order clothes, shoes,or another darn pocketbook. She and her parents love Christmas, me not so much except for when little kids are involved. I am perfectly happy with family, a ham or turkey dinner, and a couple days off from work.

She got me something REALLY nice, a custom knife I picked out.  It's already here but I can't open it till the 25th.  It is from a collector who died recently and I got onto it on another chat room.  A knife maker who quit making knives but is well respected as a student of George Herron. Pics in nine days...........
(This is why I'm asking you guys for help)

What about giving her a night on the town with Pygmy?

Trackhawk?    I want one.

BTW - Trailhawk. Bought a smaller Jeep SUV a couple years ago in the Trailhawk model. Hugely disappointed, but still love the 8 way adj driver seat. Most comfy seat I've ever sat in with over 50+ years of owning vehicles.

Like a lot of you have mentioned I also was read the riot act from my EX when 1st Christmas came around. If we need something for the house, we'll buy it when needed, not as a gift for a special occasion!!!! Making B'days, Anniv & Christmas shopping for her a PITA. Had to be something that spoiled her like jewelery, get-aways, etc.

WOW, a $30k vehicle as a Xmas gift. Please adopt me!!!!

The wife's hobby is folk art and paintings which she is pretty good at, she hand painted the "Michigan Autumn" paint scheme on my Oneida Eagle bow below. So I figured I would upgrade her crafting supplies and equipment with a comprehensive Air Brush painting setup.

I'm reading this thread and thinking what the heck an I going to get my wife? She's been doing a lot of painting rocks(sweet buffalo rocks) it's a facebook thing, and I see this. I think maybe I'll look into an airbrush set up. Thanks Airdale!

My wife has been very hard to surprise or show for. We have 2 children who have health needs and acquire our attention all the time basically. Her hobbies as well as mine have been cut way way back. To the point she doesnt really even have a hobby anymore, and I hunt only a handful of times at most per year lately.   Told her not to get me anything but she always does...

So i figured Id buy her a spa day with 2 of her friends, pay for their dinner and either send them out to drink some wine or find a male strip club lol. Anything to take her mind off life and the kids for a few hours. She needs it. The kids and I also made her a couple "Mommy" keepsakes the kids can give her..

Also trying to buy her a newer bigger vehicle for xmas but thats not easy when she drives the vehicle that needs to be traded in and she hasnt test drove any new vehicles yet lol

And time is running out

We bought her a 2018 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara in July. Unlike her previous jeeps this one did not have heated seats, she hasn't complained or said a word about it now that it's cold, but I know how much she loved them in her other vehicles so she's getting that this year, scheduled the install at the dealer for the day after Christmas.  I actually just finished making the the "card" I'm going to put in a big box for her. A bunch of other "Jeep" stuff and some small things too. This is our 36th Christmas together, we still try to keep it fun.

Married for 40 years next summer and we still buy a pile of presents for each other for Christmas. But after such a long time, my imagination is used up. Ta-daa, Amazon wish lists to the rescue! I finished my Christmas shopping weeks ago.

I did give her an early gift on the rifle opener. I was admiring Biz's and somebody else's muffs last year, so I bought her a new muff. She hasn't had a muff in forever. Her new muff really keeps the hands warm!

Muffs don't have nearly the same R value these days as they did ,say back in the 70s.

That’s a “Moog Muff”
