My wife and I decided we're  outa here in 3 or 4yrs. We've had enough of this arrogant, pompous tyrant.

This state is never going to get any better. I always tried to be optimistic that things will get better but I'm getting to the age where I can't afford to keep waiting .

I decided to move to a state that had everything I wanted, so I just bought 75 acres of prime whitetail habitat in southern Ohio.Plan to retire down there in 3 or 4 yrs.

there will be a handful of guys here that point to the safe act, but if we're honest those that were that angered by that law left a long time ago. It's the economy/taxes and the progressive push being so strong that it alienates a large population of this state. I think what really makes it bad is that he's unapologetic about it. He wants people that think like us gone and is on record saying it.

That's it.  He wants anyone who wouldn't vote for him gone.  He's too stupid to understand they also pay the taxes that he doles out to his voting base.   The fiscal irresponsibility will bring a collapse.  Once his base stops receiving all the freebies, NY state will be done for.

He absolutely loves to rub it in everyone's face.  My dislike for him goes far beyond guns.  I just can't stand the attitude he has.  Like he knows everything and everyone else is a total idiot.  It drives me crazy that people are just fine with his arrogance and keep voting him in.  Trump can be an arrogant cuss, too, but Cuomo honestly has him beat in how he talks down to the people he is supposed to represent.  Trump generally will talk down to the media and other politicians, but in general he is not too harsh on the average guy on the street who doesn't deserve it.

I most definitely agree. My personal ranking of what makes me look to move out at retirement;

75% Property taxes

20% Liberal laws and policies

5% Gun laws

Weather isn't a reason at all for me.

I'll throw in a bonus 20% that Andy said he doesn't want me here anyways. No sense in living where I'm not wanted just because of how I think. Hey, that sounds discriminatory..

my mom's pretty liberal but even she dislikes him after what he did to the teachers. I'm surprised that the educational moves alone weren't his undoing and when you add in everything else I start to think this state is just a bunch of drones. I think the swing states probably have it right. You shouldn't be blindly voting every year but really should be looking to see what each candidate brings to the table.

you bet you bippy[that was from hee haw god im showing my age!!!!]im retiring in sept. no way can I live in ny the taxes ,the state surcharge and state surcharge fee [ if you look on any of you bills cable /electric ect.. you'll see it]  the medical cost insurance cost .Its either penn or north Carolina, florida does nothing for me

Not a week goes by that my wife doesn’t bring up moving out of state. 

For us, liberal policy’s and handouts .

Weather, ( going to Fla this winter for 5/6 weeks, it’s a start )

High cost of living .

Most all her friends have already moved,out of state , and another couple we’re pretty close with just bought land in Tenn and will build and move in two years .

Guns could become the tipping point for me, its a fight to stay , and only because our two daughters are here , once they marry I could see moving ,come back a few times a year and have them down a couple more times .

Actually, it is dropping every year.  It's dropping twice as fast as Cuomo can import his new voters.  Like draining clean water from a tub while you dump sludge into it from a bucket.

I would say you are correct but would be willing to bet that if the "working" population were in a category by themselves  the results would show a decline.

Those who see all the freebies being handed out and are working their tails off to pay taxes so others can reap the benefits are looking for a better way which often leads to somewhere else.

what's funny though, is the progressive utopia needs the working class, the blue collar workers and their ideals that they despise.

Without "us" there can be no utopia because those who think that way are too busy protesting, enjoying extended FMLA, 4 day work weeks, safe spaces and free college. It all collapses like the USSR did without schmucks like us to fund their dream.

Some day soon all the illegal immigrants will be granted citizenship and those immigrants will be happy because even after they start paying income and property taxes and stop enjoying many benefits they know it's still better from where they came. But their first generation will be born here and they're not going to put up with it. "why am I cleaning all your toilets and butchering all your cattle while you drink lattes?"

The only reason to stay here is family and friends but if the country as a whole keeps going the way its going it isn't going to matter where we live. The Dems used to hide their liberal agenda by saying they are for the middle class, working man etc. Not they just flat out run on a socialist agenda and many win in landslides. It is really scary what is happening to this country. I can't imagine how it is going to be when my 13 year old daughter is my age. Its scary as hell
