I was out last thursday on the wallkill river. plenty of geese around, but not many ducks. Only saw a couple flocks of mallards and flushed about 10 black ducks in total all day

Jump shooting??? Haven't done that in many years. That can be some real challenging hunting. I will be out this weekend.

Creek was wide open. We had several chances and did not shoot well to say the least lol. We did find exactly where we need to be next time. Oddly we didnt hear a single shot from the lake

I did a combination of sitting and jump shooting. It never really works for me, bacuse the banks of the side i have permission to hunt are so thick its near impossible to sneak. Its possible with a kayak though.

Hunted Niagara river after work and got 2 GoldenEye and a bufflehead

wish the waterfowl seasons were different in this area.  The east central region for geese and the south eastern region for ducks closes earlier than every other region that surrounds it in the state.  Sucks. My lease has a ton of wetlands on it and would love to be waterfowling right after deer.
