This is because the people refuse to resist the tiny minority who rule over them. oh well...

I voted against him, attended one rally, contributed money to his opponents for both of the last elections, and speak openly against him every chance I get.

Please tell me Papist, where oh where have I gone wrong? Please elaborate.

BTW, he didn't get reelected by having only a minority vote for him.

I wasn't talking about voting. Politics cannot save either the state or the nation. That much is now clear.  When you have presidential candidates like Kamala Harris essentially advocating for a race war, it is clear where we are headed. Get ready

So what are you suggesting?

The Dem's are holding the golden stamp. Much more coming, to be shoved down our throats.

I realize it's a tad off topic as I'm mostly talking about the Feds here;

I hate to admit it, but the Dems are so much better getting things done quickly when they hold power. Repubs can't get out of their own way when they hold the power.

Still can't figure why they didn't pass the wall when they had the golden stamp for two years .  Then waited til one month after the house turned over to introduce it.  Doesn't make a lick of sense. Did they want to just show they tried and never really wanted it to begin with?

I am not suggesting anything. I am telling you politics is an obvious dead end and people unhappy with the status quo are gonna have to figure something else out. i do sense tho, that change is gonna come as a result of the deliberate policies of division sowed by the media and politicians these last 20 years or more. you can feel it in the air. something is going to happen

that's an easy one to answer. Politics is mere theater these days. Where the rubber hits the road you can't slip a sheet of paper between Dems and Reps once the Swamp has claimed them. We inhabit a one party system. More of a soft tyranny really

I have learned that I don't trust either side and have given up on both of them for the most part. Only goal for most is to get re elected and keep their jobs.

and keeping their jobs requires bowing to the goals of the Swamp which is internationalist and fundamentally anti-American in its agenda and worldview. at some point in time there was a quiet coup in American politics

From my point of view, sadly, it appears that the Republicans and Conservatives are at this point disjointed. Federally as well as Statewide here in NY. They cannot and do not agree on anything. They have not put up a strong, viable candidate against Cuomo in the last two elections.

While the Democrats and Socialists, have circled the wagons with an all for one, and one for all mindset.

I have lost my faith in the politics of ANY party. The swamp keeps expanding, with more and more career politicians. Who could care 'doodly squat' for the people they supposedly "represent". And care far more about funding their next election campaign. Selling themselves like whores to the highest bidders.

I'll continue to use my vote, to do my part. But it seems like I'm drowning in swamp water.

Please explain ..

it is very clear and straightforward. We are ruled, not government by a small elite of unaccountable  individuals and groups. the political system we use in a vain attempt to fix our woes isn't working, and hasn't worked for some time now. democracy was invented originally to avoid war and violence. it was a non violent solution to removing bad leaders and demanding change. Democracy has not worked for a long time in America in this regard. The nation's decline appears to be like a run-away and unstoppable train. Trump's surprise ascendancy (albeit a generally ineffectual one) has forced the Swamp to drop the mask of democratic appearances. People realize we have problems; people realize they are getting worse but most do nothing and some (less than 50%) persist in participating in a democratic system that is so obviously corrupt and unable or unwilling to solve their problems. And yet there is no sign of public awakening here such as we see in Europe now. This can only be coming about either as a result of mass cowardice or mass stupidity. Which do you think it is?
