NY faces $2.3B shortfall; Cuomo blames tax overhaul

The article states “Gov. Andrew Cuomo argues it's because New York is paying the price for President Donald Trump's signature legislative achievement.”

As usual, Cuomo blames President Trump.  Does not change the truth that New York State under years of Cuomo’s governorship has become a “progressive” mess.

Well he flat out said hes not going to tax the rich to compensate for the loss, which I agree is a stupid plan, but now that’s opening the door for him to tax the rest of us a little more. He made no mention that raising taxes on the middle and lower classes would be out of the question or that it was a bad idea. Ray Charles can see where this is headed....

NY residents are already taxed to the point of breaking.  The only solution is to cut spending.  All of Cuomo's leftist progressive spending is completely unnecessary and must be scrapped.  The state simply hasn't got the money for it.  Time to drop down to essential spending only.

Raising taxes on any NY residents will only cause more of them the leave the state, thereby exacerbating the tax revenue issue even further.

That being said, Cuomo can be expected to do exactly the opposite, while continuing to blame his opposition, to the cheers of his clueless supporters.
