Amazon's Echo

Recommended Posts

I've had one for a while, it's the only thing that makes doing dishes, pots & pans 8 hours a week bearable.  Pay the 5$ a month for unlimited music, but just on the echo.  If I hear something on Liquid Metal I like and want to hear it again, or an entire album to see if I want to buy it, it's great.  It pays for itself on days like yesterday when I'm making 25 lbs of venison sausage!  Flip side, even my 2 year old knows how to use it to play Frozen.

So far she is nice to have, I still haven't used the plug. I still have not played the music because I have a blue tooth speaker I use with my phone.

We have two of them. One in the kitchen and the other in my daughter's room. Wife loves for dictating her grocery shopping list. We have a couple of smart plugs hooked up to it for lighting.  We have a Sirius-XM so it is nice to tell it to play anything on that without having to push a button. It also works with Pandora music. Daughter likes to have it play meditation music to help her fall to sleep at night. And of course asking goofy questions to see how it will answer is fun.

Love when I turn on a song on Alexa remotely from APP     Telling Alexa Stop does nothing at home   APP overrides commands   Wife and daughter do not like this so much  As a matter of fact going to play Baby shark song now from work

Anyone use these things?

I was given one for Christmas and it kind ticks me off, you have to pay extra for the music. I still haven't listened to it on her.

So I also have the smart plug, anyone have one and what do you use it for?

we have 3. if you have internet it will play Pandora and IHeart Radio.  we use the smart plug a lot. we use to have it on the Christmas tree lights and could turn it off with voice commands. We now have it on a light and can turn it on or off from anywhere we are on our phones. Makes my wife feel better when the dog isn't in the dark.

I do have 3 echo's, 2 are plus. I have 2 bulbs. I made sure they worked and packed them away. Some day I will find a house and will use her then. I should check the plug though
