Which size do you guys use?

need one for airline. Mostly for my hunting rifle and an AR .  Looking to put maybe a handgun in it as well

what size do you guys recommend?  1700, 1720, 1750 etcc

Sorry can’t help. The case I use for flying is old and I don’t even know the brand. But it’s made for 2 guns. I typically bring 2 guns on a hunt where I’m flying just to be safe

You need to be about 3" longer then the longest rifle (or piece) you intended to transport.

I happen to have aluminum case for full size, full length rifles. But Pelican is a favorite of mine with the soft corners for flying, and toting through airports.

Last trip I used it, baggage folks put some sort of tractor tire mark across the case and no worse for wear for the case or contents.

Personally I believe in cutting out the foam for a snug fit; others like to crush the guns in between the padding.

This is a 1700 configured for my takedown rifle for 2 barrels;

Same rifle stock.....same case.....but reconfigured for a different barrel/scope and some additional storage (gun sock for in a vehicle/extra scope/change of clothes)

Aluminum ammo can is required for international flying (small aluminum box) 4 boxes of 20; with carry ons (2 pcs day pack and fanny pack;
