Woodland poetry

Had this pop up as one of my memories.. thought I'd share it here..

Sneak into the woods its so dark but i'm late,
Find a good tree to sit next to to await this mornings fate.
Turkeys gobbling at the dawn,
Woodland creatures sing along.
crow flies over and wakes the world,
it doesn't seem to care if it's heard.
Woodpecker knocking on the tree,
I think a porkupine just shit on me!!

Had  the whole poem scenario play out pretty much one time when sitting on a Deer hunt, the difference was the Porky was not in the tree I was under but a big Balsam a few yards away. Heard some scratching and looked up to see a big Porky shimming down this Balsam, when he gets to the ground he backs up to the tree and takes a big crap and then climbs back up the tree to his perch.

An old turkey hunter from Nantucket

Sat in a blind on a bucket....

When no gobblers came strutting to his yelps and cutting

The man from Nantucket said  ****  it !!…..

hahahaha........I was trying to come up with one, but you nailed it my friend!

Got a funny look in the office, when I lol'ed.

A Sterling turkey hunter named Bill
Called a gobbler one day up a hill...
He called  it  up a woods road, and singed it's ass with a skeet load....
The poor bird, I believe, is running still...

Ya still got it....Pygmy Longfellow - good to see you can still straighten it out!

The best woods road turkey killer is Billy Boy Schmidt

Thanks to my toe kick heaters, Gman’s ground blind is always lit

Pygmy slays turkeys and even a Mermaid

After this masterpiece I nominate Pygmy as the poet laureate of the huntingNY forum!!  LOL

Reading Storm914 posts can make my eyes bleary

But not as bad as a video of a Papist conspiracy theory

Odysseus's fascination with turkey hunting is almost a bit eerie

That's when I turn to a Pygmy dirty joke to again make me feel cheery!

THIS MAY 5TH, FSWs HAS INVITED ME UP TO HIS 1,000+ ACRE LAND.     I WAS TOLD WHICH FIELD TO CALL FROM AND MAKE MY STAND.       BY MAY 4TH HIS CREW OF 6 SHOULD BRING 12 TOMS TO THE BAG.    EACH MAN WILL  CHEERFULLY TWICE AFIX A TAG!      THAT 8FT FENCE KEEPS 250 TURKEYS IN WITH PLENTY OF FOOD.    THERE ARE LIMBHANGERS THERE, I AM TOLD, AND TO TAKE ONE WILL PUT ME IN A POSITIVE MOOD!

One little walk with FU and Wild Bill is felling a bit saucy

October 1st I can't wait, hope to take a big buck anything over an 8.  Love to chase and talk deer even if none are near!  Months till it starts yet I fear ticks even in March!  Would love to go and scout but Lyme keeps me out.  Come on September so I can set up some stands, in hopes the big one will fall in my hands.

Over thirty years of hunting since 88 I hope my buddy Shawn finally connects with his first, anything nice including a big 8!
