Anyone find ANY oyster shrooms yet? Last year we found tons in one spot the week after Memorial Day. I was hoping they would be back again but nothing??? Do they grow back on the same area?

My boss found some beauties on Friday. I'm gonna hit the woods in a little while, rain or shine.
They're often found on living trees, so they should come back as long as the Mycelium hasn't completely consumed the host.ef6aee6d7e48baa097eefcc5d8c4cecb.jpg

Wow those look special- last year I find them really heavy around Memorial Day. Seems like a large swing of variation in time

That looks like either a Berkely's Polypore or a Black-Staining Polypore. Both of which are supposedly edible, but I haven't tried them.
One word of caution is to be aware of pesticide usage at golf courses or parks.

And I quote, “no F’in way am I picking them- it’s bad enough people know you pick mushrooms. I’m all the kids have left to link them to normalcy”

Just in the past few hours I've picked about 6 lbs.and that's not even 3%. We could use some rain since most are struggling to get beyond button stage and most of the big ones are beginning to dry out. Most are bug free. With rain come the bugs so it's a catch 22.

So true. Things just got really dry as chanterelle season is about to kick off.

My shroom season is non existent so far this year. Bust on Morels, but i hope for some hen of the woods. I found good spots last fall.

I found but 1 small oyster this year and that was while turkey hunting. I don't target oysters per se, but they're always welcome in my fungi collecting bag. Check out the date on this screen shot of last years mushroom thread.c796cbde3e39cba88b42b44b40ff0b11.jpg
