Is climate change just another religion?

Except that 99% of scientists have agreed that global warming is real and man made and this has been the thinking for decades. Why are you arguing? Because you don't like that it's happening and the thought of it being our fault troubles you? That doesn't make it not real. Because some government officials have abused power? That doesn't mean that decades of independent research is wrong because of covid. These are not correlated.

Never said it wasn't real... Never said it wasn't our fault.. Only said authority should be questioned. Sorry for being so controversial.

No informed individual is saying the earth isn't warming.  The issue at hand is, are the proposed radical "solutions" to the earth's temperature rise going to have any positive impact after billions of US dollars are thrown at it?  And if it is a global issue, why are we only demanding the US foot the bill for it?  When questioned, the answer seems to be more about wealth redistribution than any correction of the climate.

That being the case, the disadvantages to the "solutions" proposed, far outweigh the advantages.

Scientists are not economists.  It's outside of their field of "expertise".  But I'll bet if asked, many would also agree raising taxes and forcing electric cars on us all at gunpoint, isn't going to fix anything.

then we agree that this is a waste of time.

Yes, it is a waste of time.

The fact is that those Billions of communists living in socialist countries don't give a rats ass about carbon emissions, global warming or how the planet is doing.

Those leaders are laughing at us for destroying our economy, suffering power outages and losing our super power status over something we cannot do anything about because no matter how much we suffer to make the world a better/cleaner place, it'll never be enough to counteract their pollution output and raping of the planets resources to feed their ever growing numbers.

The only real way to solve the warming issue is to wipe the polluting countries populations off the face of the earth.

We can't do that because who would make the cheap crap to sell on Amazon ?

And this is exactly what I said on page 1. The solution is exactly what we should be debating. But there is a smattering of comments in here refuting that it's even a real thing. You'll probably find that I'm more aligned with you on how do we address the issue than you think.

I'm glad we could get to this point.

From your nasa climate change link, I see they do more than the weather man but it still gave me a chuckle.

yes I know, but it was pretty clear the comment was about "will it rain tomorrow on Belo's food plot in 8F". But you're right in that the profession is more than just a nice looking girl telling you how bad your commute is going to suck in the morning only for no snow to fall at all.

And that is the problem.  The government is ignoring the other side in the debate and forcing their "solutions" on everyone against their will.  High gas prices, mandatory EV only sales and new construction regs are not coming from consumer demand.

Another interesting breakdown

https://www.beforetheflood.com/explore/the-crisis/the-four-deadly-gases/

I have not "fact checked" my source...just found it interesting regarding the breakdown of the gases that cause the most damage.

No surprises that burning of fossil fuels make up the most destructive gases but what are those burning fossil fuels used to create? My Chevy equinox cannot be totally to blame nor can we even blame the F-350s ripping around suburban neighborhoods but that is what is presented as the main cause of these emissions and that don't seem right

John Kerry has a political science degree. What qualifications does he even have to debate climate science?

His degree and life experience has made him a master of deception and dishonesty, making him eminently qualified for the position of "climate Czar".

Funny how leftists love using communist titles.

Someone like belo would be more knowledgeable. And for belo it seems to me like his climate change mitigation strategy would be less radical.

According to this guy we should be in the middle of an Ice Age, but thankfully the Human race has stopped that.

My wife and her friends hate the cold, so their all running their car's 24/7 and are buying everything off of amazon to support the billions of polluters to keep the planet warm.

Amazon tried to go green with roof top solar panels, but had to stop to it after multiple fires and electrical explosions.

"Population declined. Global temperatures rose. Migration of people from destabilized regions increased. Wind and solar energy supplied the planet all its power. On Sept. 4, 476, Romulus Augustus stepped down from the throne of the Western Roman Empire and the world entered the Dark Ages, which lasted until around the year 1000. Now, 1,022 years after the end of the Dark Ages, as populations decline, temperatures rise and people move restlessly about the planet, environmentalists are plunging the world into a new dark age of wind and solar dependence. ... Environmental policy is inherently Malthusian. The entire and entirely unspoken premise of this movement is that humanity must suffer so the planet survives. ... It is not actually a coincidence that, just as superstitions grew in the original Dark Ages, sophist thinking and superstitions are spreading now. The Americans embracing their inner chakras and healing crystals who think men can get pregnant are the loudest voices of environmental lunacy. They, God's creation, now envision themselves Creators and will create a hell on earth backed by pseudoscience and loud screams about climate change to cover their sophistry and incompetence. People will die and it will have been entirely preventable. The power going out in America is a choice. It is a choice too many progressives are making and imposing on everyone, to our detriment." —Erick Erickson

Why are leftists not screaming about these subsidies to these corporations?

They scream when a Republican does it.

They are not screaming because they are in support of those corporations.    Just like the right doesn't scream when they subsidize their interests.   Its a very simple concept.

Also, you are a sheep if you think any politician cares about you.

Subsidizing good intentions is not the same as subsidizing good results.  Leftists scream when money is invested where returns are good for the country, but love it when it's money lost by green industries.

Politicians care whether or not I vote for them, or at least they did until they learned how to steal elections and get away with it.  The sheep are the people who accept the lies from the left.
