Daughters trip to Fort Collins , Colorado

Recommended Posts

She flew out solo to visit my niece ( who’s my age ) and her husband.  First time flying alone but did have direct flight.  Went star gazing , food truck rally , toured Colorado state university, white water rafting in class 2 and 3 rapids , kayaking, total 80’s pizza , national park , saw elk , pica, antelope, mule deer , got pedicures with my niece, tried nieces husbands vanilla bourbon barrel aged homebrew , did some shopping    Loved it out there. I’m elk naive but these 3 bulls look ok

I remember my 1st plane trip. It was a solo one as well. I thought, I would never get on a plane- but was determined to do it. Nerves were jumping on takeoff from Stewart International Airport. No problems after a few minutes though. That was when, I flew down to Nashville, TN to Spring Turkey Hunt along the Duck River. Took a Jake down there.  All eyes were on me when , I walked into Stewart with my Locked Guncase! That was back around the year 2000. Nashville is a Beautiful City and a very clean city as well. I flew back down again in 2004 for more hunting. Stopover was at Chicago. When, I got back to Stewart, I found that my Guncase was left behind in Chicago! Plenty of Horse Farms in Tennessee. Flat country with low hills and very friendly people.

Big elk in Estes for years. No hunting area lets those beasts get huge

She had a great time indeed.  Loved the campus as it offered fbi forensics, ballet , photography and French.  But it’s on the large side and outside her 3 hour drive comfort level first 4 years.  We were fulling expecting her to forgo the 3 hour rule after how much she enjoyed it out there. Partially my blame for exposing her to the great outdoors so many years ago
