he was in the right place for a giant. still no easy task with a bow.  congrats to him on getting it done, given an awesome opportunity. elk is delicious. hunting elk is supposed to be flat out awesome when they're rutting and bugling. maybe someday in the future i'll make it a point to go after them.

I assume shot late on afternoon with a couple field pics then hero shots the next morning, hence the belly down view.

I’d assume (here we go again) that it was gutted the night before and cooled out sufficiently.

I really don’t care about the backstraps. I care more about the hide not slipping for taxidermy

Why? He didn't do anything terribly spectacular other than be incredibly lucky to draw a tag. Those guides down there have to have every single animal tracked down to a science. The hardest part is just drawing a tag
