You other gear heads atv guys, I figured could appreciate these

Recommended Posts

I know we’re smack dab in the middle of archery, but I am planning my winter projects. I just received my set of 28 inch tall 10 wide fronts 12 rear cst wild thang mud tires for my quad . Looking forward to getting them mounted up, Also will be doing cvt clutch work for the bigger tires ,  a diy radiator relocate to the front rack with a removable over rack so I can still use the front when doing work. Air filter mod and a fuel tuner also.

I am trying to build a dual purpose atv to perform better in the mud, but still be able to use it for work.

nice.

@rob-c when you do the clutching, can you post specifics? Obviously not the same machines, but curious about clutching.  They make spring kits for mine, but only one type.

Your Kawasaki  Cvt is a bit different from mine , as you have a primary and secondary springs. Yours relies on these 2 springs to apply the pressure to the cvt belt. With any cvt quad if one is going to run larger tires, mud bog , carry/ tow a lot of weight, Switching the spring or springs to  a higher pound rating will apply more pressure to the belt so it doesn’t slip in the cvt sheaves .
Springs will also change the shift out and increase engine braking of the quad .
