1/1986-- Rooster Pheasant in a Tree.  Considered ( unsporting) to shoot him right there. With 2 Hunters, one Hunter will shake the Tree to get a Flush for his partner to shoot. Lone Hunter has to be quick  when doing this.

Today, I was Reflecting on my Longest Successful Shot on a Pheasant and , I believe it was the Rooster Pheasant , I killed a good 30 years ago while walking in open Wetlands.

In the distance was a Field with a group of Pheasant Hunters. I heard a casade of a good 6 shots and at least 60 Yards, I see a Rooster Pheasant flying Strongly through the open Wetlands. I gave that ol Rooster Pheasant a 5 Foot Lead and fired. Down he came instantly.  Sometimes things work out when you are in the right place at the right time- LOL. I have always used Remington Express Long Range Pheasant Loads in #4. Obviously here a few #4s hit this Roosters Head.

Members here can check out some of my old Pheasant Hunting pictures here.  2020 will be my 47th year of Pheasant Hunting.
