"Slick" one of my Redline Airedales when he was a young buck, a good all around hunting dog, gone now but not forgotten.

Are all redline’s short haired like that? I say my first airedale last week. The guy said there the best all around dog out there.

The Redline Airedales are a genetic throwback to the very early Airedales when many had a short smooth coat and the breed itself had a loose standard. 50 years ago they were almost bred out of existence by the show crowd who apparently  favor longer coats but in recent years they have been showing up in litters from the old hunting lines. They are still somewhat rare and a very small percentage of the Airedale breed. I for one am glad to see a few of them still around and hope there always will be.

Was involved with Coonhounds for many years, English Coonhounds were my breed of choice and I had some pretty good ones back in the day. Just a pleasure hunter for the most part but I did hit the competition circuit a bit just to see how well my dogs would fare against the hotshots, we did not do too bad. Some old photos of pups I bred raised and trained below and one of the "storm and strife" with a nice Redtick male.

Weird that just recently I’ve been thinking more about Trico(RIP -8/19). This thread is making me smile and get a little itchy for a new one. Only problem is the new one would most likely end my marriage!!!

My boy Henry is a stud. He has fathered 2 different litters in the last 2 weeks. We will be getting a female from his latest, born 2 days ago. D003C7E0-59EC-4426-A816-74A4F0EF4B69.thumb.jpeg.183544f283703c3785612e410503a104.jpeg

The first litter was 4 males. The second was 6 males and 2 females.
