Looking for a new xbow.

Going on a xbow hunt in November in Illinois. 

I would like to get a new xbow with a crank cocking device.  

Needs to be NY legal too. 

What are my options in the $500 and under range?

Centerpoint Sniper with cranking device would be a little over $300.  I love mine.  You could upgrade the glass and bolts and still be right at $500.

I have upgraded my glass on my pse fang, so I would transfer glass to the new xbow.

Question.  Does the cocking crank make any noise. I'm thinking of a boat winch.... Click..click..click...

The carbon express  390 is a good inexpensive crossbow with crank. Picked up one at dunhams after season clearance for 220 normally 320. Was gift for friend for some work on one of my vehicles. He loves it and took a nice 9 pt with it this year. 

Center point also makes a good inexpensive x bow in the whisper 380. But you have to buy crank seperate

That I don't know.  I use a cocking rope with mine.  I do know that Centerpoint sells a compatible crank for about $80.

Yeah, most will have a ratcheting noise, but on a smaller Db than a boat winch. Know certain Mfgers are working to reduce this noise level.

If you do consider carbon express, they have great customer service. I had to send my xbow back for a warranty issue and they were super responsive.
