Cabin Insurance?

Recommended Posts

I have both my cabins covered through my homeowners plus I got an umbrella policy for liability.  Even if your land is posted you still can get sued by a trespasser if they hurt themselves.

There's a lot of factors.  Access as pointed out, availability of water, contents of cabin, heating source and oh yeah they really took a good look at wood stove.  They wouldn't cover me for theft as it was being used as full time residence.

If I can ask some clarification. Even with this policy you can get sued, right?  With NY's General obligation law why would you want this policy? What protection does it give you that the NY law does not?

Theoretically, it will cover the costs of a lawyer to defend a meritless lawsuit.
