I know where I would start. Allow us to get insurance across state lines so we have more than a choice or two for health care. I currently have 2. The unaffordable one I used to have and the one I got now. Allow our insurance companies to purchase drugs from anywhere. It is crazy you can order the same drug from Canada or Mexico for 1/3 the cost. Take 10% of what we pay for medicade and put it into pharmaceutical research and make any company that wants a piece of that money and develops a new drug to share that drug with other pharmacies so there isn't a monopoly on the drug before a generic can be made. Those are 3 easy steps that would go a long way in cutting cost while also limiting government interference.

One of Trumps campaign promises was that he would dismantle Obamacare and fix the healthcare system because in his words it was a "disaster".   Without giving specifics he claimed that he would fix the system like never before and that everyone would have affordable insurance.  What has he done to fix it?  I know that my insurance rates are going up every year just the same as under Obama and the coverage I get for the high cost gets worse every year also.  Maybe Obama's idea sucked but Trump has done nothing so far to help fix it like he promised.  Maybe if he didn't waste as much time on the petty fights, nonsense, and tweeting in the middle of the night he might find some free time to address the issue.

Really? Maybe if he didn’t have to spend the last 3 years fighting for his life from relentless attacks from the left, he would’ve been able to get more done. Look at what he has got done so far. Maybe if the left didn’t waste so much time on Russia, Mueller, and impeachment and actually tried to work with the president instead of accusing him of everything that they are guilty of, he would be able to fulfill all of his campaign promises. But they don’t want him to. They want to try to derail his agenda at our expense.

I seem to recall that was one of the first things that Trump attempted to do after he was elected but the effort was defeated by an uncooperative congress.   I believe that he will try again in his second term, when he should be greatly strengthened by a much more cooperative congress.    Considering the ludicrously dismal field of candidates that the Democrats are fielding for the Presidential election this year, it is almost certain that Democratic turnout will be down, and even many of those who do show up to vote, are likely to switch sides.  Heck, even on this thread, some have already stated their plans on doing that.  A pleasant side-effect, of the horrible slate of Democrat presidential candidates this year, will be big Republican gains in both the Senate and the House, as many ride into office on Trump's coattails.

You do realize that when anyone sees a long paragraph like yours they only read the fist and last line …. correct ?

I fear you may be correct, as that would explain the clueless majority of the electorate.  ^_^

However, my hope springs eternal.  If it opens just one mind, it wasn't time wasted.

I find it humorous when anti-Trump citizens point to things Trump hasn't been able to accomplish, without acknowledging the systematic obstruction he has faced from the opposition on everything he has proposed or implemented.

It's quite obvious Democrats must rely on obstruction to prevent his administration from accumulating even more positive accomplishments, in order to have any chance of criticizing Trump's administration in the upcoming election.

The reason we have seen less done for American citizens since 2016, is because leftist Democrats are more interested in fighting to regain power than they are in helping American citizens.  And if they ever regain that power, they are more likely to use it to diminish the freedoms American citizens have, to benefit illegal aliens and themselves.

One can only imagine the plans they had in mind if Hillary won.  The shock of her loss has driven them to desperation, where nothing is too insane for them, in their attempt to implement those past plans.

God help America if they ever regain power.

As usual you see it only from your perspective.  Both sides are obstructionists.  If you think they aren't then you are letting your bias blind you.  Trump is the instigator-in-chief, if if it wasn't Russia or impeachment he would have rattled the cage in some other way to bring the focus of the attention to himself.  That is what he wants way more then finding solutions to a real problem like healthcare in this country.

Look at it this way, if Trump don't do anything to address healthcare, sooner or later we will once again have a democrat/liberal in office and then they will take matters into their hands just like Obama tried to do.  I'm sure many of you will not like what they will have in mind.  Bush Jr. didn't do anything to address the rising cost of healthcare and that then led to Obamacare.  The same or worse will happen with Trump not addressing matters now.  Healthcare is a very real problem, costs are getting high and it won't be long before employers won't even provide it just as pension plans have become a thing of the past.  Ignoring it WON'T fix the problem.

Obamacare is the reason healthcare costs are currently rising.  The Democrats are fighting to prevent it from being scrapped and fail to admit it is a disaster.  They refuse to accept their signature health legislation has created more problems than anyone could imagine, even though they were warned it would create problems.

Why?  Because Obamacare was the first step in total government control of ALL healthcare.

The leftists goal is to make healthcare impossible unless it becomes a single payer system run totally by the government.  That is how Marx advised leftists to control the people.  Control their healthcare.  Screw it up beyond repair and single payer starts to look good to the idiot electorate.  This idea has already been embraced by a multitude of leftist Democrats, so expecting them to fix the rising cost of healthcare is wishful thinking.  Expecting leftist Democrats to support any type of fix to the cost of healthcare is fantasy.

The only thing being ignored is the truth.  The only way to fix our healthcare system is to get the government completely out of it.

Not true.....There is a fair, easy solution that would be easy to implement and would be equitable.

Simply charge by the pound. The hardest part would be coming up with a rate per lb. Once that could be established it would make things less complicated and less costly to administer.:mosking:

Hey, you trying to raise my health care costs with that idea! ;)  Seriously, I share your lament on the lack of progress on healthcare reform. Trump, like all politicians, likes to move the goal posts and or shift the focus on what he's done as opposed to what he's been unable to do. Lately, at least, I don't hear of him even talking about healthcare reform. I guess it will be addressed next term.

Russia donated $0.00 to the Trump campaign. Russia donated $145,600,000 to the Clinton Foundation. But Trump was the one investigated.

Democrats sent more troops and armament to arrest Roger Stone than they sent to defend Benghazi.

Bill Clinton paid $850,000 to Paula Jones to get her to go away. I don’t remember the FBI raiding his lawyer’s office.

We are one election away from open borders, socialism, massive taxation, mediocre universal healthcare, gun confiscation, and full-term abortion nationally. It's about fighting evil.

If you think the democrats will give you great universal healthcare, consider this.  In August 2014, the Office of Inspector General released a report finding that the cost of the HealthCare.gov website had reached $1.7 billion.  All that for a Democrat created website that DID NOT WORK!

It would be fairer if the charge were based on waist circumference.

Not to mention that this is one of the ways that Russia interfered in 2016, using fake social media accounts and troll farms to disseminate false and misleading information.

I just saw a story that National Intelligence officials have told Congress that Russia is already attempting to interfere in 2020, with one goal being to help Donald Trump.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/intelligence-officials-warned-lawmakers-that-russians-are-continuing-efforts-to-interfere-in-the-2020/

I just wanted to follow-up on my comment from the other day. I just read new reporting that contradicts the article I shared. According to this report, Donald Trump's reelection may not be a goal of current election interference.

I'm sure this will open a can of worms, but I don't want to knowingly be a hub for misinformation.
