Those are mandatory for new constructed pools. It’s a great idea. But to me, it’s too late. I prefer an alarm on the house door before they ever get near the pool

I immediately pulled mine, every time a leaf hits the pool it goes off. Our pool has its own fence,
Always locked. My girls are 15 but there are a lot of little kids in the hood

Obviously pool alarms don’t prevent anything from happing ,just a notification , and one can go fish their kid out of the pool . Never having one my question is , what do you do when you swim ?
Do you shut it off ? Will it turn back on automatically? The reason smoke detectors now come with sealed batteries and and a ten minute hush button , is because people would disable them , when they burnt  food and forget to turn them back on .

There’s a “key” that disables it, it’s like a magnet

Many years my allergies where so bad I thought about doing it!

This has been my worst year for allergies ever. On three different prescriptions at the moment.

I don't know why I never thought of the mask idea. I'll be doing that at my next mowing!

same. way too many false alarms even after adjusting it. gates and supervision. our 2 youngest need floats on even when they're not swimming if they're going to be anywhere near the pool.

Who decides what pattern? Is that left to the groundskeeper what they feel like cutting? Or does someone else make that decision?

On our sports fields, we just switch up the direction of cut each time.  Just take a quick look to see which direction was chose last tine, and then go perpendicular.  Every now, and then a 45 ish angle like I chose.  We do this because overtime if you cut the same direction each cut, over tine you will compact ruts into the ground, and it also sort of trains the grass to lay over in that direct you mow, and doesn’t actually cut it at the desired height you are set at.

An exception is when we have tournaments, or if we are aerating, or treating the fields, then we cut in the direction of game play.  This helps you in keeping straight, and correct overlap, when applying chemicals, or seed/fertilizers.

Very interesting. Never in a million years would I have even considered that there was so much thought and planning into the way the grass is cut. I figured it was based on whatever someone wanted to cut. Sweet! Got a beautiful day today to mow
