I can’t follow Lomax posts. But crazy winds. Rowed nonstop from 645am - 930am. Got 2 lakers early at 710 and 725am and no other hits.

I was thinking, “the rowing was probably so difficult due to the extra wind sail Biz was donning!!!”

Good fish, Biz!

Yes, box turtle.  My turtle biologist friend said this was a "particularly handsome specimen".  He also said there is a problem in NY with box turtles and the pet trade, people often release non-native box turtles into the wild.

Yeah also alot of people take them from the wild. It was a nice find and great pictures of her . Then she was on her way.

Nice catch. We struggled finding decent fish this morning. We were south of 109 in that scumline. Lots of shorts. Dropped some good ones at the boat. Jigging raps mostly.  Then it got a little too choppy.

i HATE the new channel markers.  They are tiny.  Hoping those are just temporary.  I struggled one day last week for 2 hours then found em and had a limit in 10 minutes.  There ought to be schools starting in the channel soon if not already.  It def got a bit rough out there.  We havent gotten a lot of big ones but have been doing ok on 15-18" .   Have only gotten one or two 20+ so far this year.  We did best out front of verona beach near the canal by 107 so we werent too far away, but never know just need to find an active school.  2 Other boats around us had the nets out too. Just happened to try that first after the waves pounded the east end all night.

Kayak fished some big gills today, left a bunch for next time. Scaled them.IMG_20200608_160733276.thumb.jpg.41acbb059fa026d83b12a8f3e260f712.jpgIMG_20200608_160910007.thumb.jpg.d06fc716e32606d49c1da80a53507a31.jpg

I’m all aboard the scaling train, for some reason I remember it being a pain in the ass when I was a kid but it’s easy as can be. Literally 30 seconds per fish

Yea it doesn't add much time at all and fried fish is always better skin on in my opinion!

I like them that way too, but unfortunately,  I'm the only one who likes them that way, unless my Phillipino daughter-in law happens to be around...

Also, when doing numbers, the filet knife wins out...Today 3 of us filleted 65 slab  sunfish/gills in 50 minutes, including clean up..

They filets also take up MUCH less room in the freezer...

Did Al put his hand in the water and jiggle his bracelet to attract bass and then grab them by hand?
