1.5-1.8 problem is the big east wind from last weekend pushed a ton of cold water in. People with fishawaks are reporting 64* surface temp and 25' down the water is 45*. The fish have scattered, and we cant find them.

Water temp has been 70+ in the bay and 60+ in the ocean. Moriches bay is shallow, averaging 8-10 ft deep, so it warms up fast (everyone that has fished it has a sandbar story). Outside once you pass the outer bar, it drops away to 35 and keeps going until at 600 (30-40 miles out) you hit the edge of the shelf and then plummets to 6000+ (the canyons)

As I wait for my 5th zoom class/meeting of the day, after seeing your boat pics, a tear trickled down my cheek like the NA having garbage thrown at his feet in the 80’s commercial. What a sight!

Talk about a kick in the stones....leave house to go to work and two vehicles pass me headed the other way to the lake towing red trackers!!!!

....that ain't right.

On the water tomorrow with some buddies first crack of daylight.  Need to walk off that kick from this morn.

Ouch! I hate when that happens.

The good ole days on Oneida are right now.  Boat limit by 8:00. Once we found them it happened quick.

Lol. Well always two of us at least so we split.   Plus mom etc.  And remember I didn't get a deer this year so have to make up for it.  Funny I tell my buddy pick which day your taking fish before we go......choose wisely. Lol.  Lately it's been Everytime we go out we limit so both days are good.

He is taking fish tomorrow cause he is bringing his son.  So we are hoping for a three man limit.

I will trade some of those limits for your deer season buddy.  You killed it.

I have a 965 & 975 a little maintenances and they’ll last for ever. Great little reels.

I’ll take seabiskets over any fish.

Me and kiddo went swimming in the lake today.  She caught a rare sight of a fat guy in a donut floaty with 2 cans of labbats  and half a kayak oar to get back to shore.  Going fishing later when my brother and nephew come up.  Post some pictures that won't scare the children.

I have the 965, 975 also. They are awesome. I would love to find another 965.

And, I almost totally agree. For me, I think the blackfish is neck and neck. Maybe, just maybe, they are a bit more fun to catch, too, maybe. Problem is I am usually in a tree during tog season.

Got out on Hemlock for a bit this morning. Took the ladies out for a ride and managed enough panfish for a fish fry tomorrow.  Ended up with 2 dozen keeper bluegills, 3 rock bass, and one big old perch.  What a beautiful day!

Nice haul!

Where did you launch, north or south end?

We hit lake Erie for the opening day of bass season today.  We launched at Buffalo small boat harbor, which was as busy as I ever saw it.   The bass were a little slow, and they have not spawned yet.   We landed (3) smallmouth, all of them 18" egg-laden females (I learned that when I filleted them later), in about 10 minutes along a short stretch on the outside of the outer breakwall, starting at 10:30 am.   After that short bit of fast action, we drifted a few times across between the outer breakwall and the inner and lost smallmouth #4.  That one was probably a male because it was shorter and no where near as fat as the first (3)).   We also landed some "accidental" catches on those drifts which included about a dozen sheephead and (1) 28" walleye.   We are probably going to hit that area again tommorow, focusing more on the walleyes, becasue I dont care for harrasing pre-spawn bass.
