What’s your plan for all the cucumbers you will have . Once they pop you will have a few a day ready to pick.

Wife loves cucumber salads with tomatoes, cheese and EVOO. As do I.

On a side note, fresh basil picked today. Will be making my top secret pesto recipe later to put over shrimp & pasta.

Yes, it’s a customized version from 3 different ones.

I’m not even a pesto guy and this is by far the best I’ve ever had. Maybe it’s the freshness of the basil, pecorino Romano, EVOO, etc. 2nd time making it.

That’s the point you’re missing. I use unsalted roasted CASHEWS. Now stop trying to get my ingredients out of me.

Seems like you can make a straight up trade for a jerky recipe as you seemingly piqued his interest

I’m betting there’s a secret Bionic Spice blend thrown in there for good measure

No Bionic spices, because that is my arch-rival now for forum food Biz. Given the price of cashews, EVOO, and Pecorino Romano from Uncle Giuseppe's, along with my hourly rate to water, hoe, and pick basil from the backyard, my pesto will likely be in the $20-25 range (4oz jars)

Are you roasting and growing them yourself? And $25 a jar sounds quite reasonable indeed

$25 per 4 ounce jar (roughly 2 shot glasses). so the batch I made today would be like $500

Planted on 5/31. Plants were pretty small like 4" tall. Pretty happy so far. Tomatoes are Roma plums. Cherry peppers, Hungarian wax and lady bells in the second pic. Cubanelle and cukes planted on the corner of the deck. 7e055cc0f6708bb2feb8b62418481b0d.jpg1dff64def8db876272488e79847f49d6.jpg73f9e883c3211e53ee4c2412dbb76e78.jpg

We have had no rain. Here to speak of so I've been hauling water out of the bay after work at night or before going to the woods in the mornings before work. Just trying to salvage my sad excuse for a garden this year. So far everything is at least staying green but the carrots and onions are looking bleak.

How the hell do you have no weeds? I hope you get some rain because that looks like a beautiful garden to me.
Plow with a single bottom plow first, then disc it down. Then put the 5 foot tiller on the 504. Then till twice with the troybuilt horse to get the ground fluffed up good.
Once things are planted try to till between the rows weekly but with no rain have not done so until the evening of those pics as rain was forecasted. Other than that I just use a hoe to try and stay ahead of the weeds.
We still have gotten very little rain, 1/4 inch out of this supposed heavy storm system today. Oh well got the corn and carrots side dressed before the rain so maybe the fertilizer will help some.

Bell peppers are getting big but only a couple peppers per plant.

Pimentos looking good which is suprising, when I transplanted them they were hurting.

Shishito peppers are by far my best looking pepper plant so far. I have three or four plants with 8-12 peppers and they look very healthy so far.

Ground hog topped all my sunflowers but corn and watermelon are going strong.

Eggplant is fighting back after a treatment of DE as other posters suggested (thanks). Jalapeno and Poblanos are just starting to make peppers.
