Optic or Reflex on your Turkey Slayer?

I have been so slow at work i have been spending a lot of time on Gun broker. This is bad for your wallet..FYI….

I just purchased a Beretta A300 Turkey Gun. https://www.beretta.com/en-us/a300-outlander-camo-turkey/  I don't have it yet, just won the auction and got what I feel is a heck of a deal. All of my shotguns are older and none of them accept shells larger than 2 3/4 inch. So sitting here thinking about my new turkey slayer I have been wondering about optics. I am thinking a reflex site would probably be best, I was looking at the Vortex Venom. Is a site a waste of time on a turkey gun? I am not usually a big turkey hunter, might go out a time or two per season but with nothing else to do I plan I spending a lot of time in the turkey woods this May.

Truglo red dot for me. I dont think its a waste of time to be honest, Id rather have a red dot or scope for my turkey gun than nothing. If you dont mind me asking, but where are you going to send your gun? I thought FFL's and gun shops were all closed?

I have 3 guns that I have purchased on gun broker waiting for me at Zacks which is closed but a friend of a friend has a FFL and my friend talked to him and said I could have it shipped there.

A friend of mine got a gun at target sports in Glenville yesterday. They are doing drive up business in the parking lot if you call ahead.

Smitty outside Mechanicville is doing appointment only I heard from another friend so there are places still doing business. Despite the closures.

Trump declared gun stores essential and the NRA is suing NY so it seems there are a bunch of gray areas.

Not familiar with either but will say I absolutely love my Burris fastfire 3 that we ( Treeguy ) , I watched put on last year. Been using a Bushnell camo scope forever on my 1187 spt.  Game changer imo

I was looking at the fastfire and the vortex. I like the idea of the reflex. The fastfire takes the recoil no problem?

I saw that. We'll see how long it takes for the gun shops to open up again

I have been using a low power Leupold scope ( 1x4) for the last few years and have no complaints, but the newer red dots like the Fastfire interest me....The only red dot type sight I have used on a turkey gun was a Bushnell Holosight...I killed a few birds with it, but never really liked it...It was high and awkward  and I hated the fact that it made my turkey gun look like something Buck Rogers might use to hunt lunar elk...About a month after the warranty ran out, the frame on the POS broke, irrepairably..

The newer sights  are smaller and lighter than my Leupy scope...I might be tempted to try one..

TF and Treeguy, sweet talk me......Hehehe...
