Are we watching the downfall of our country?

Yes I think trumps horrendous response to covid 19 played a huge role in our current situation. We still haven’t gotten it right. It should have been mass testing and isolation from day one. Any way I’m not a Biden fan. Will never give up my AR’s.

Oh and Trumps tax plan hurt me way more than any Democrat ever has. He actually attacked the upper middle class with his tax plan

Chef, did his tax plan actually hurt you or did it just feel like it hurt you? I have paid more at the end of the year with Trumps plan because there is less coming out of my check every week. I thought the same thing and was really pissed the first year. But when financial planner  added it  all up, I actually paid a little over $3000 less per year under Trump compared to Obama....

So are we in agreement that Trump in no way shape or form can reopen NYS ?  Guess what ,he can't close it either ,your boy Andrew is to blame for the horrific death numbers in NYS .

Disagree, the lack of federal response to testing and contact tracing as well as forcing states to bid against each other for ppe is to blame. States do not have international intelligence agency’s they were not warned in January. Trump was. This is also not a scam I know numerous people who were infect and that lost loved ones

Umm no elimination of the salt tax deduction actually really hurt me.

The second amendment is there too. I feel pretty infringed upon.

In that respect I agree with you. But no one has gone after rattlers religious freedoms.

I strongly disagree with the Dems on their stance on gun Control. I have never voted Democrat for any office before in my life. Trump has us headed down a very dangerous slippery slope.

I find it funny that the majority of Trumps base is actually poor or even middle class whites. These are the people that have been most financially hurt by his and other republican policy.

Hurt me too, but I still paid less federal taxes. Why does NY state have among the highest property taxes in the nation? If I lived in most of the other states, I wouldn't want to subsidize NY and it's gross excess either. That's another win for Trump on a national scale.

The constitution was intended  to define laws . Laws were never to define  or interpret the constitution.

For one  religious  freedom gives you the right to practice your religion.

Separation of church and  state   intent was to keep religion  from becoming a governing  body. Not remove all religious references or influence. The values set forth in the constitution were based on puritanical beliefs.

Over the last 60 years  the constitution has been under attack  and has been weaponized  to push social agendas.

Everytime the supreme court passes a ruling that defines the constitution.. or interprets  in their belief  we weaken  its strength.

Not really as Ny for years has put more money into the federal coffers than it takes. Actually significantly more than most states. Most states and actually most red states take more than they put..

That is a fact

This is one of the first years that NY has actually asked to be subsidized and only because of the effect of covid.

It's still driven by obscenely high state property taxes. If you and I both paid, say $10,000,000 in property taxes, should we get a $10,000,000 deduction financed by the nation? If I was living in any of the lower tax states (majority), I'd vote against that.

I’m not saying your totally wrong but I do not believe in only blaming Trump. America as a whole did not do well with this pandemic. No government or state had resources to deal with this.

That is true but the fix to that should have been coordinated by the federal government. Instead we created a system that pitted state against State, and sometimes even the fed against states. We still don’t have a national testing strategy.

We aren't left with much of a choice in this coming election just as we haven't had much of a choice in numerous recent elections, but I hope you Trump lovers don't live to regret your blind support of this man.  He has pretty much F&*#ed over everyone who he has ever dealt with throughout his life.  Once he gets what he wants from someone he then discards them like a piece of garbage.  Plenty of people who have worked or done business with him can attest to this.  They left with nothing but contempt for the guy.  I sure hope he don't F&*k us all over in the same way.  Especially now if he wins a second term.  Hey, he has snookered you and has gotten your votes and he has no chance of running again, so we will all become expendable from this point on just like everyone else he has ever dealt with.  Good luck!

Yup, no argument at all that the guy is a world class a-hole.  But I still feel like I'd be way better off with him for four more years than with Biden.

What exactly do you fear with Biden. If that’s they case why not push for a republican house and senate and get trump out. Or even push for a real republican to be the candidate

Trump's plan after re-election is an unknown.  The Democrats plan is well know.  They've told us again and again.

I love how you ignore the facts in the message because you don't like the messenger.  Yet leftist celebrities are lauded over.  Russell is making a valid point.  Deal with it if you can.

I understand why you ask where you find this, because the main stream leftist media sure as hell doesn't tell anyone about it.

I don't "fear" any presidential candidate. But what I don't want is open borders, high taxes, gun grabs and restrictive laws, pandering to socialist countries, etc, etc, etc.

You said you're not a fan either. I assume we have at least some common ground here?

BTW, enjoying the debate (although I really need to get some work done). Hope we get to meet at a GTG someday, and I'll put the first tall frosty in your hand!

Hahah yea I actually agree with all of what you said there. I just feel the country especially with a republican senate will come out of 4 years of joe better than another 4 of Donny.

I’d have a drink with you any day
