You are all so quick to get off on horn porn but when there is something that you should all take a stand for as being wrong you do not want to be inconveinenced.

Maybe some one out there will get the point that its not at all about what is on their head but how one chooses to chase.

If the story was even remotely legit I would go away quietly, but I will be here a while ;-)

If someone from the EAB program arrowed the deer would that have been ok?

Taking this buck is kind of like trying to bunt for a base hit in the 9th inning of a perfect game. Cheesy play but legal. If the hunter feels it is a trophy then so be it. May not be to most of us but this shouldn't be a debate any longer.

Its not really an issue any longer IMO, DEC found it to be a legal kill, thats good enough for me.

just this past year I was bowhunting in Illinois and a guy shot a buck that was not that big and then had an offer to hunt for another with a family members tag.

Now if you go shoot a booner with that tag you then have to decide for yourself when you look up at that trophy on the wall if you are proud of what you did.

While this case is different as it was deemed a legal kill, nevertheless, the "hunter" now can look up at his trophy and decide for himself if he is proud of this "accomplishment".

This isn't romaticized back woods deer hunting, this is inner city deer population control. If you dont like it then don't do it. But some people dont mind it. It is what it is. I would rather have that deer shot over my grave ( though there is no proof that happened ) by a bow hunter, than some car run it down or some government sanctioned hit squad bait him and shoot him in the head.

It was shot in a grave yard - that is fact. That it wouldn't bother you is fine.

But someone hunting in a cemetery where my family is had better worry about things other then legalities.

It disrespect - plain and simple. Not to mention the damage a hit deer could do on a death run.

Legal or not, it will not be tolerated around mine.

This deer was killed as an act of horn lust greed end of story.

Do not try to right size this tragedy by saying it was an act of population control for the village of Cayuga height becuase even greedy sunsabitches know that to reduce the population you need to kill the does and a large number of them not the larger bucks out of the hurd. Nash has made no effort to kill any does in or arounfd Cayuga Heights, why would he, he does not even eat venison. The 3 Deer he killed prior to this monster were all bucks in and around the town of Ithaca and none of them very far from his vehicle. I would not define walking up to and killing an animal in this setting and killing it hunting. And yes it has been confirmed to have been killed in the Cemetary.

How can you not have a beef with some one that does this ........

DEC has been provided all this information and they are not able to legally prove any wrong doing.

However with that said when you heard the words come out of his mouth that do not match the story provided to the DEC what are you to believe? When you heard the stories of the other bucks being killed prior to this deer ever being killed.

I know for a fact that a lot of these monster bucks go down by less than legit methods or stories behind them. And next thing you know they are posted on a website and everyone ooohs and aaaahs over them. Knowing differently I must come out and say BS. I will not remain quiet.

This went down bad and I will keep preaching that until I can not any longer. Why? Becuase the way this magnificient animal was killed goes against absolutely everything I believe in. If any one on here still considers Matt Nash to be a hunter I am personally ashamed of ever calling myself a hunter.

You obviously don't believe it enough to go sign a sworn statement at the dec police claiming what you heard. Maybe you should reconsider your "beliefs". What you call evidence is actually heresay. I have no dog in the fight, but your whining is getting annoying. I need more facts before I pass judgement on the guy. you may be right, but prove it.

"Long ago, Hunters were the unlikely vanguards of progress. Today, we are protectors of tradition and conservation.Thankfully, we still have some wild places left. So while at times Id like to say let the hunt begin, right now Ill say, let the hunt continue."

Interesting quote... In my eyes providing people the truth about this tragice situation is in fact taking a step towards protecting tradition and conservation.

I am not bashing an individual his actions clearly are taking care of that.
