Yes.  They made into a stupid mall later.  Since everyone on the news is talking about "Charlestown Mall" burning I thought it would be nice if someone pointed out that it existed as something interesting before it became another abandoned mall.

Sad, this is what insurance companies refer to as hard to prove Jewish Lighting, in recent years the old Savage factory has been set on fire several times and it looks like this time the job was done right, can be sure the owners will shed no tears.

My Dad worked there before going into the Navy during WW2 and I have his model 99 30-30 from that era. They also produced fine Fox Double shotguns.

There was a day when NY State was the mecca for US gun manufacturers, LC Smith, Lefever, Baker, Ithaca, Parker, Savage and Fox, all gone except for Remington which is hanging by a thread with non stop lawsuits and a Democratic governor  that would like nothing better than to see them fold like the others.

NYS has a rich history of manufacturing . Sadly,the way this state continues to be run it drives businesses out and welcomes freeloaders by the bus load.
