I drilled out my breech plug, don’t remember the size, I could figure it out if you’d like. Not sure if they make a 209 breech plug now or not. I’ve had two triumphs, and both ones I wore out the hinge pin and both t/c was unable/ refused to fix. Not a huge deal but it loosened the action enough so they would opens on its own from time to time.

This one is for my dad, he loves this particular MZ.  He might have to live with iron sights this year.  I'll put in the time on powder etc.  When I get home

You won't a better barrel then a bergara ,not even the high dollar MZs will offer a higher quality barrel.

Here’s what I’ve came up with after burning pounds and pounds of powder. Buy whatever gun you want, I would avoid traditions and like CVA but t/c’s aren’t bad, I just had a less than ideal experience with their c/s and it put a sour taste in my mouth about them.

@Buckmaster7600 curious about your experience with traditions? I picked up a Traditions Vortek Ultralight a few years back haven't had any issues so far. I probably have 50ish rounds through it, but don't have any other ML experience to compare it to.

If the scope sucks I'll replace it.

Now, Gents, kindly tell me everything I need to order!

Sabots

BH209

Need a different breech plug for that accura to shoot the BH?

These have made the process very easy to load rounds . I prefill the tubes at home and take them in the field with me ,the rubber part the tubes slide into also hold primers . Projectile choice may vary depending on your situation but i had good luck shooting a 300g shockwave from my CVAs . I think Thompson makes the measuring device and powerbelt makes the speedloader.

Are you planning on using it this year,  if so I might suggest using T7 and the stock plug. Bh209 is next to impossible to find ,at least near me . If you are using bh209 you will need to modify stock plug with a vent liner or replace with their bh209 plug for 100% ignition.

I'd start with a harvester crush rib sabots and order some .452 300gr hornady xtp bullets . That bullet has probably killed more game then any other bullet around

You can upgrade the glass at anytime . Im looking to upgrade myself to a vortex or Leopold when I find one on sale .

Now go make some smoke

You dont need a vent liner for BH ,vent liner are for easily rebuilding the flame channel from using dirty corrosive powders. The BH breechplugs are counter bored deeper onnthe ignition side to shorten the length of the flame channel .

The stock plug won't ignite BH ,adding a vent line will allow it , you can drill a 3/8 diameter hole by 3/8 deep problem solved

I know it doesnt ignite the powder quick enough ,that's why they sell a BH plug ,to put a liner in the stock plug is doing the same thing as the BH plug ,you drill the plug deeper and install a stainless flat head screw . Honestly the price would be about the same and modifying the stock plug to accept a liner is a better option because you can change the screw as the flame hole breaks down . I've spoke with ron Laughlin about this in the past . The BH plug is nice if you need it quicker or dont have the ability to rework a stock plug. You can send the stock plug out and get it reworked also.

CVA makes a cleaning kit ,comes with barrel foam ,clean patches , patches with protective stuff already in them , a container with liquid for soaking the breech plug in . I never tried anything different ,maybe the other guys have different options for cleaning supplies ,small brush for flame hole , a cleaning rod with brush and patch holder . You could add a starter to get the round in the barrel but it's not 100 percent necessary.

If you can find BH 209 powder in a nearby Bass Pro shop they will match online prices so you'll save $15 on ten ounces. Buy two.

Thanks!  Yeah grabbed the BH209 x2 from basspro online.  There isn't one within a 2 hour drive near me unfortunately.

Not a fan of Cecil and precision bullets myself. I helped him correct a breach plug issue he had for the NEF muzzleloader line . Myself and another guy got nothing out of it  not even a thank you . Lost me as a customer .

How much were the hazmat fees on that bh209 from bass .
