First mount of the fall...forum buck.

This guy was a late arrival to the shop this spring.  Apparently, he had been in the freezer for several years. I had to dig up a new cape for the mount...but everything came together beautifully and he is now ready to get the attention he deserves for years to come!

Just curious what happened to the original cape? Damage from the freezer?

The result was worth the wait. That rack deserves being properly displayed on a shoulder mount. Nice work.

I believe that the head and cape had been in the freezer for 8-10 yrs so the skin/hide was basically freeze dried on the skull.
