How dumb can people be?

You have not lived long enough to have experienced what can happen to you when you allow the government to take away your freedoms and liberties.  You still have the youthful ideals that seem great when you're young, and stupid when you gain wisdom. No doubt your education was designed to indoctrinate you into this way of thinking.

Society must allow freedom and make individuals accept responsibility for it to thrive.  Not all taxes are oppressive.  I'll pay for the things I use.  Taxing me to pay for the things I don't use so others can use them, is Socialism.  BTW, many of the publicly supported items you mentioned do not benefit anyone other than the people subsidized, and that buys their votes.  Do you want to pay to grow more corn for ethanol in your gas, which makes corn more expensive for everyone and only serves to lower your gas mileage, putting out the same amount of pollution per mile as non ethanol gas?  It's perfect example of expensive government stupidity.

Leftists believe in Collectivism, where what is good for all, can be bad for some.  That is tyranny against the individual.

Choose to be part of the herd if you wish, but someday you will wish you were a free individual.

I pay school tax and have no kids. I think that is not a great setup,so what?

public school is socialism?

When the government allows public sector employees to unionize and contribute money to one side of the political spectrum in order to get fat raises at taxpayers expense, then push leftist propaganda on the students by force, to indoctrinate them in leftist ideology, that is the worst form of Socialism that exists.  If something is funded by the general tax fund, it must be objective or it must be stopped.

It's fine to have certain things paid by taxing everyone across the board for the betterment of society.  But when those things become detrimental to society, it's time for the people to step in and stop funding their own demise, especially when alternatives desired by many taxpayers are denied funding by a government that gets support from a public sector union.

Look at hospital, and insurance profits, then tell me why we have a healthcare issue. Lawsuits are another issue, but create more profit for insurance companies.

Insurance premiums,  and deductibles increase, and so don't the insurance companies profits. I heard once if you get sick you can pay the hospital 50 dollars a week and eventually the bill will be paid, but you can pay for insurance every week, but you will always owe them more.

Health insurance companies contribute billions a year to politicians through their political lobbies.  The profits they make are the result of lawmakers regulating healthcare costs so the insurance companies can make these profits.

Our elected officials are to blame for the problems with our healthcare industry, as they have been regulating it for decades now, and getting huge donations to do it, to the benefit of everyone making profits from it.

BTW, many hospitals in the US are going bankrupt, thanks to politicians screwing up all of their elective procedures during the virus.

The ACA created many problems for many people who had affordable healthcare.  Many saw their premiums skyrocket, many had to pay thousands in tax fines for not being able to afford it, and many lost their healthcare, or even their jobs, altogether.

Get the government out of healthcare as the first step to fixing the problems.

Think other countries have less expensive healthcare?  Add up all the taxes they charge their citizens for it over their lifetime and divide it by how much they use it and see how much they really pay for each use.  It's far more than the average America pays.  Plus Americans can get it when they need it. That's why when a Canadian gets put on a months long waiting list for cancer treatment, they come to the US and pay out of pocket so they can get treatment right away.

By definition, all government purchases are third-party purchases. The government spends other people's money on things it won't consume. It doesn’t care about the price or the quality. Thus, there will always be waste in government spending.

That is why, to paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, government should do only those things that a man can’t do better for himself.

If 300 million Americans were free to buy health insurance for themselves, just as they buy their own life and home and car insurance, then that little gecko on television would offer us health insurance with a little more coverage for a little less cost.

And he wouldn’t be the only one. Insurance companies and hospitals would be working night and day to get our business. Quality would go up, and prices would go down. It’s already happened with laser eye surgery. It used to cost $2,200 per eye. Now it can cost as low as $500 per eye. That’s the way free enterprise competition works…every time.

But when the government gets involved, costs go up, waste and fraud go up, essential medical services are denied or unavailable. These are the hallmarks of government healthcare bureaucracies around the globe.

The sooner we make health insurance a first-party purchase again, the sooner Americans will get the health care they want…finally.

Life expectancy has far less to do with a nation's healthcare system, than a nation's demographics and culture.  A nation's level of unhealthy lifestyles that contribute to obesity, lung cancer, liver disease, diabetes, heart disease and stroke affect life expectancy more than the quality of care a nation's healthcare system provides.

This country is heading to war. There is a large portion on the “right,” a large portion going further left, a bunch in the middle and a few on the extremes. The ones on left want to take rights away from the right. The right is about done letting it happen. The problem is it won’t be a civil war. It will be the right against the world. It’s been in the making since right after WW2. Much of the world wants the US to become part of a world power because then they can control us in a way they’ve never been able to.

I just hope that enough on the right have the balls and the love for this country to make the stand needed. The left in this country will fold like a cheap tent in a wind storm. It’s what the rest of the world powers do that will decide the fate of the US.

Working in health care myself, I have had quite a bit of opportunity to talk with Germans about their system and Canadians about ours. No system is perfect, but especially the German model was created new from scratch post WW2, as was their entire economy and political system. it works, people like it. The Canadian system is a blend of the old (ours) and new, and is also a great improvement. The standard flat tax rate on all goods and services pays for it ,and no one goes without any thing, and you are free to have your own private insurance and go to private providers if you choose. Chronic care meds (ex.....insulin, DM care supplies, which cost us about 6500. a year) are absolutely free. The problem with our system is it dates back as old as our free enterprise system. It is like Microsoft ....patch job on patch job on patch job.

I go up to Canada snowmobiling 3 or 4 times a season. (probably not this year) I have never spoken to a Canadian that thinks their healthcare system is good and many that have come here for services. You wait months for something as simple as an MRI...

The owner of the hotel we stay at rants about it every time we stay there and people speak to us about how lucky we are to be Americans all the time. I tell them not to worry, we are catching up and will be passing them....

just want to add   people get suckerd  because in some of these   country's they have long lifespans but that is because of genetics   diet and lifestyle not because of a free healthcare  system . you go talk to those older people in those places  and you will find they never spent a day in a hospital in their  life's , you really  get sick over there they let you go, pass away  , don't kid  yourself.

Have a friend from Hungary (100 years old) never sick, took care of herself still doing ok...As you say, maybe good genetics.  She also escaped from Nazi occupied Hungary to live free here. I'll never understand people voting for idiots like Biden and take this country down the same shithole that this woman escaped from. Her stories were incredible.

Life expectancy at birth for year 2020.

Canada ranks 21st...give or take a couple

Germany ranks 34

USA ranks 43...give or take.

now go take a look at the oldest  people that ever lived  list

you will find a  disproportionate   number coming from USA

The New York Times's Lisa Lerer reports, "Of the 265 counties most dominated by blue-collar workers — areas where at least 40 percent of employed adults have jobs in construction, the service industry or other nonprofessional fields — Mr. Biden won just 15, according to data from researchers at the Economic Innovation Group, a bipartisan policy research group."

So much for the one-time party of the working class.

"Even if [Americans] don't know one of our 43 million friends and neighbors buried under 1.5 trillion dollars in federal student loan debt, they understand the need to boost our struggling economy. This is Econ 101: the best way to jumpstart our economy is to put more money in working families' pockets — money they can spend in their communities." —Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer

So why not promote less government regulated free market capitalism and more good paying jobs in America, so people can afford to pay back the loans they voluntarily agreed to?  Increasing the National Debt only shifts the debt onto the backs of taxpayers and will not make it disappear.
