They are very reclusive. Very seldom will we see them while out walking. Mostly see them while hunting, and being still. My buddies daughter was sitting one of my ground blinds last week, and got a great video of a fisher. I'll have her send it to me and I'll try to post it. Really cool!

We have 1 in 8P that is making his home on my property. Beautiful black coat. I watched it walk 10 feet from a doe and fawn they could care less.I know all the critters have to eat and Fisher like turkeys. Our turkey population sucks he wont help being around! Thats mother nature though...

are they timid or do you see them from the stand/ground when hunting

I have had them walk within 15-30 yards of me multiple times in a tree and on the ground. Very cool.  Usually going across a trail out of thick brush and swampy areas.  They didn't seem to pay much attention to me.  One peeked its head out of brush and head bobbed looking at me a couple times but then went about his business

SENY, yes. But I just checked and you can't in WNY.

Fun Fact - I missed an otter with a rifle on a frozen lake in British Columbia. I had the mount all picked out in my head, the otter half under ice half above. But i missed lol

Buddy showed me a video the other day where a fox was chasing a Fisher. Fisher looked like it was toying with the fox. Video was almost 10 minutes long.  He said it was posted on a CNY hunting FB page.

I watched an otter run across a lawn in Clarence Center a few years ago. I thought I was losing my mind until I read they released them all over niagara county, not far away

My first thought was Kimodo dragon

I used to have a white throat monitor as a pet when I was younger.  It was about 5' long.  One day it escaped and I didn't realize it until my father's neighbors called and said a giant lizard ran into our front bushes.  I suspect they also thought they were losing their minds.   lol

And for the record, they really are not great pets.
