Biden has already rolled back on that it was only ever to get people to vote for him. Which could be what chef feels about the 2A issues too but I think Biden will not.

Wait til he unrolls his plan to go after the current 401k deduction process and turn that into tax credits instead of pre tax contributions . Oh ya the next 4 years will be great , no more president saying mean nasty things all while making changes to better our country.

I don’t not. Thanks for acting like you know what I support. I voted Biden and Republican down the entire ticket.. one can be a Republican and not support a Fascist.

He’s not Fascist , not even close . Who is though ?? In terms of contemporary American politics , I wouldn’t describe the heads/ leaders of either Major party as Fascists. That word used as a political description in the pejorative And is so overused to the extent that you hear it applied everywhere In reference to someone whose political positions the user of said term disagrees with.
It is not accurate . Incidentally , True fascist leaders can come from the right or the left , although it is often mischaracterized as being owned exclusively by the far right ( see wikis definition, very inaccurate). Mussolini and Hitler are both recognized as Fascists , yet their  political movements Were left wing in origin (Nazi stands for National Socialists Workers Party I believe ).

Definition of fascism
1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

FYI this is exactly how Trump operates. MAGA. Fires everyone that doesn’t agree with him. And what you saw this week, forcible suppression of opposition. You also saw it when he had BLM protestors moved so he could take a picture.

I appreciate all of the discussion of this topic, and there have been some extremely good points raised, points that have really made me think. A couple of things that have been rolling around in my ole noggin over the past 24 hours are.

1. It is incredibly hypocritical of me to adamantly support something until it adversely effects me. If I could retract my complaint I would be tempted, but on the other hand, it wouldn’t have caused this reflection on my part.

2. While if asked, I would still say I support UBC, I’m certainly more conflicted. I guess it’s easy to cast blanket support for something without thinking about the impacts of it.
I guess where I’m currently at is reflected well with @Nomad expressing no problem with them as long as they were cheap, fast, and efficient.

Ultimately, I’m just happy that I was challenged and it has caused me to think about things more. So, again, thanks for the discussion, I really do appreciate the perspective.

It took me roughly 6 months to get mine years ago, I asked about applying for a full carry and they essentially told me not to bother because I won't get it. Now mind you, at the time I had a few gun safety courses under my belt, had completed phase 1 of the police academy and was a firearms supervisor at a big box store. Nope, still a no. A couple of years later, my now wife, applies for hers, essentially no firearm experience in the past and applies for full carry. She gets hers back unrestricted. WTF!? I haven't tried to get mine amended because frankly I don't care, I'll carry it when and where I see fit.

It reminds of the people who voted for the idiots that destroyed California so they move to Texas and vote for the same idiotic policies that ruined The place they just left.
Don't feel bad we have the same shit in Florida .

Listen keep pretending you live in 1840. A vote against Trump is not a vote for gun control. It’s a vote for democracy.

I guess your idea of democracy doesn't include the bill of rights

I was partly showing I may be willing in some areas to “compromise“. It’s not that I don’t have issues with UBC . But a quick NICS check with no records kept, allowing transfers between family members without it , loan a gun to a friend to hunt with , there needs to be things like this built in .

You are about the only liberal on here , who seems to be willing to listen ,think and share opinions , and who does not eventually resort to name calling .

So I’m willing to do the same .

I hope you don’t think I’m trying to put words in your mouth or insinuate that you meant something you didn’t. Your comment kind of hung with me though.
Maybe on this site I’m viewed as a liberal, but I think I’m more of a left leaning moderate. I have my opinions, but I’m open to other perspective and can occasionally be swayed by it.

Sorry wasn’t  trying to categorize you , just not to much to go on . It would be so nice if more on each “ side “ would stop treating politics like sports , where the other team sucks , and that’s all there is to it .

I didn’t take it poorly, no worries. My sentiments exactly on the sports reference. Ever notice how network ads for the debates look really similar to boxing match promos? That type of thing only furthers the “us” vs “them” mentality, which is in part why we are at the point we are today.

This definition could be applied to both sides of the aisle. There are two primary criteria in it bridged at "...individual and that...".  The Left focuses on the first criteria labeling the Right, and the Right focuses on the second criteria labeling the Left.  Since neither the Left or Right meet both criteria of this definition it should not be applied to either side of the aisle!

Pistol Permit forum turns into Politics ...... Get and keep Jobs people !

It seems many topics/threads unfortunately devolve into politics on this site.  Which is just another symptom of what is wrong with America today.  Anything and everything is becoming politicized which only divides/polarizes and resolves nothing.  It serves the politicians and only the politicians.

It would be great if the media wasn't allowed to cover politics before an election ,make people vote on how a party directly effect their everyday life and not because some dip shit on the news talked them into it .

The  media is like there bible and religion  to lots of these  folks  . That's why the globlist and   deep state wants total control of who can and cant speak on those platforms like twitter and Facebook .

I agree with you. But a vote for Biden is indeed a vote for more gun control. You don't have to believe me, just read his own website.

Buy back the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities. Biden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets.
